New Outfit

My mom made these cute overalls for Hannah - they are navy blue corduroy with print lining, and the front is smocked with little lambs. Best of all, they are long enough that she can wear them for the rest of the winter!

Happy Birthday Hannah-Patootie!

We celebrated Hannah's birthday by having Josh's parents and the Listenbergers over for cake and ice cream and to watch Hannah open her presents.
At first, Hannah used her spoon and fork like in a lady-like manner, but then she realized how much faster it is to scoop out handfuls of ice cream and cake and stuff them in her mouth. By the end, she just tipped her whole porringer up into her face all at once. Plenty of time for table manners later!
Hannah's porringer was a gift from her great aunt Catherine and great uncle Stan when Hannah was born. The fork and spoon originally belonged to my great aunt Mary Reed Crook (Hannah's middle name is Reed too).

This is a cheesy smile, not a crying face.

Next we moved to the living room to open presents. In my family, since my brother and I were both born in December, my parents made birthdays a bigger deal present-wise than Christmas, but maybe this year we took that a little too far for Hannah! She got some very nice toys, a TON of books (I am her mama, after all) and her very own potty chair.
Hannah really enjoyed opening and shutting the lid to the potty chair.
...and until it comes into use for potty training, Hannah thinks it makes an excellent drum!
