The skull is back

2 week wait and the it has paid off. The whole new updates to the Runescape; the Player vs Player worlds are now available with other visible updates too. Besides the PvP world the other updates are:
1. a new log in system - Now you won't need to go through the series of links to play the runescape. There is only one page difference between you can the game. Just select the new menus on main page for free or members then you are directly send to the game.
2. new way of calculating the combat level. It seemed a bit unfair that Summoning increased your Combat level everywhere but couldn't actually be used everywhere. Therefore, your Summoning is now only counted into your Combat level if you have recently summoned a creature or held a Summoning pouch. When you log in, you will see that your Combat level has been split into two numbers (e.g. '75+6'). The first number is your base Combat level, and the second is the potential extra available from Summoning. If you're holding a Summoning pouch or have a familiar, this potential will be added on taking you to your full level.
3. Players in the same clan chat channel will now appear as purple dots on the minimap. This is the second highest priority after friends (green) and before other players wearing the same team capes (blue). Note: Being in the same clan won't remove the default attack option in the same fashion as a team cape!

Now lets go to the PvP.
You will be able to go to the PvP worlds by selecting the worlds which has a tick in the 'skull' column. To avoid nasty accidents, if you let the game choose a world for you automatically it will never select a PvP world. Also note that you require a Combat level of at least 20 (not including Summoning) to get into a PvP world.

Before you are logged in, you will be warned that you are entering a PvP world which is a dangerous place: you will lose your items on death and you will not get a gravestone. Upon entering the world for the first time, you’ll be teleported to Lumbridge and given a manual to explain the finer points of PvP worlds.

Here are its features
*Fight players (within your level range) anywhere on the map, except in a few safe areas.
Safe areas include banks, respawn points and some guilds.
*Level ranges are 10% of your Combat level, plus 5 levels. If you are fighting inside the Wilderness, the Wilderness level is added to this total. Your current attack range is shown on your screen at all times. (The 10% is measured from the higher of the two combatants’ levels.)
*Skulling is back – same rules apply. If you initiate combat, you are skulled and on death you will lose all items, with the Protect Item prayer saving one item as normal.
*Teleport Block is back in the normal spellbook.
*Some minigames are available to play, others are not – please see the Game Guide for more details.
*Death drops are back – new rules apply. Drops will be a mixture of items from the defeated opponent’s inventory and items from drop tables specific to PvP worlds. See below for details.

The quality of the drops you get when you PK someone depends on several different factors:
*To get a reward from a kill, you also have to risk some items yourself!
*To accumulate a possible reward, you have to risk a minimum of 75k of items on a members’ world, or a minimum of 25k of items on a free world.
*Note that your three most valuable items won’t count as being risked unless you’ve been skulled, as you wouldn’t lose them.
*The longer you spend on a PvP world (outside a safe area) with the required amount of items at risk, the better your possible rewards might become, to reward you for your risk.
*The possible reward increases even faster and goes to a higher maximum if you go into a ‘hot zone’.
*Note, however, that risking more than the minimum won’t improve your rewards faster, so it’s a good idea to take relatively cheap and useful items that won’t cost you too much to replace if you die.

When you get a successful kill, the exact reward you can claim depends on a number of other factors, including the level difference between you and the value of the items lost by the dying player. Any unclaimed loot is saved for the next kills, so you don't have to worry about it being lost if you kill a low level player.

Don't despair if you are dying a lot and losing a lot of items. The game will detect this and improve your chance of getting decent rewards when you do eventually get a good kill.

The above is a simplified description of how it all works. To prevent cheating there are various other factors taken into account. Jajex has calculated the rewards and rates very carefully, so that a successful PKer should be able to get a good income, and PKers who get lucky might find themselves with a good drop. Higher level players may also get higher rewards to reflect their increased earning ability when not PKing, such that PKing is still worthwhile for them. The aim is to make PKing a fun alternative (albeit very high risk) way of earning money in the game.

Included in the PvP-specific drop tables is a wide range of new combat equipment and XP-boosting gloves. Members will get access to level 78 items for all three corners of the combat triangle, including armour as well as weapons, and a new set of Ancient Magick spells. Non-members will get access to corrupt dragon equipment. But these currupt dragon equipments are only for 30 minutes and can be easily distinguished by the faded colour.

Hope that fills you up for another update to come

Runescape new update for Clan Wars, Beware of scam

You might have seen the new update to the clan wars. Now you can choose new arenas to fight, new ways.

The new ways to fight include re spawning after death, play for certain time, number of kills needed for victory.

And this might be the most awaited by pkers; the drop item after death. This one is cool but beware if you don't want it drop you items.

There is no confirmation box here, so like in the past trades, you can be scammed to play a drop item after death by just clicking on accept. This is an easy scam, just click on the center box saying drop item match, if the other user removes it then again click it, do it time to time fast and you might be able to trick the other player and play the drop item match. Good for you but when you die it feels very bad.

But don't worry getting scammed. If you see it is not the criteria of the war you wanted you can easily forfeit through the portal. You can also see an icon saying; on death: items are safe or dropped.

It would be better if it had the confirmation box as in the Duel Tournament showing what are the criteria for fighting.

A new Runescape and too much of eye candy

Finally, the wait is over for a new improved Runescape.
Now while you open the Runescape then you might have your mouths opened. Runescape has now changed, graphics and a new web site environment.

The Low detail login

The graphics are fantastic as any other 3D games. When you log in on a high detail level you mouth gonna be wider. The game background environment goes on changing showing the places around the Runesacpe; it is like the one on PC games (you know farcry, Prince OPs).

The High detail logins

But one thing is that, you need to be a member to log into the high detail game. For now the High detail level is on a beta stage so Free players can hope to get the High level after the testing phase is finished. Look at the system requirements of the High detail and the screen shots.

Then comming to the web site, yes the website interface has been changed. The interface is not so much new and looks alike the other MMOGs' web interface. Lots of graphics, informations are compacted and for the first time visitors it may look like "is this the website of runescape? where am I?". Starting with the new interface you get really stuck for sometime where that thing is but soon you will get the hold of it. Anyway I think if the web site interface had been better.

New pictures of The Future Runescape

Okey! the days are coming near for The Future Runescape to come in. Here are the new pictures direct from Runescape website of The Future Runesape. They are for both free and member worlds. Its going to be more realistic and distinctive.

The first improvement is the texture. Almost every inches will have some textures in them and differ from each other.
How do you like those textures?? They are good for a java based game.

The blending add more realistic and immersive environmental effects to Runesape. Before it used to be a flat colour but now there will be greater variety of ground colors. Even the grasses will have textures.
This one really looks beautiful.

What did you see in the horizon before? Is it a complete black surface?? Now it is going to be replaced by fogs so they are going to be natural and smooth. The fog level will also be able to be modified. The Shadows will add more effect to the graphics. The brightness and darkness of places will be different from place to place and the shadows are dynamic. The dynamic shadow!! How about adding runescape clock?

The warcraft and other 3D fans!, runescape had already beaten them in the game play and is going to equalize on the graphics soon enough.

The Future of Runescape!!?

If you are a regular Runescape player then you must have noticed the 'Send Us Your Specs' post, haven't you? If you haven't, then do it now. The small software will fetch your computer specification to the JAGEX to improve the game and make its future available to majority of the players.

Past:

After:

You can see the 'after' picture is the Future of Runescape. It has quite good detailed environment graphics. The pebbles on the ground are decent, more textures on the roads and wood carvings. The most impressive is the shadows. You can see shadows on some angle to the ground. Does the shadows means there's going to be day and night on runescape and will they move? Or will the shadows just sit in one place all the time?

Though a small thing, the texture of face of players has not been improved. Though you can see added textures on the clothes the facial texture would be an added bonus.

Don't expect the future of runescape to be like the warcraft, but for a java game it is almost the best you can get.

Playing Runescape in Free world

Well Runescape a Java based MMORPG(Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) is no doubt attracting so many peoples. I am too a player of this game and i am trying hard not to get addicted. Here we talk about playing Runescape in the Free World.

Runescape has always been cherished for its game play. Though mostly Member Worlds were more enjoyable, but now, due to some of its recent updates, Runescape should be appreciated for its path to give Free Worlds with some good minigames to play. The new minigames are Duel Arena, The Bounty Hunter, Clan Wars and the Fist of Gutix. Though there are still no Quest updates for Free Worlds.

Duel Arena

It is one of the first minigame open for Free World. You can duel with other players for a friendly or a stake of 3k duel. You can choose how to duel, like, no food, no melee, no armors and many more. Well if you have any fight or quarrel with other players then it would be definitely worth a visit.

The Bounty Hunter

It is the heaven sometimes hell. When it first came out it was definitely a hell. It has multi fight, so a when you enter the arena a group of players would attack you and you would be pawned; so bad. Now this arena has been changed into a one on one fight. If you die here you will loose everything you have with you except the one which you protect with your prayer. But if you can kill then that would be treasure hunting.

Clan Wars

This is where you make a clan of players and then fight with another clan. It is a safe mini game and very enjoyable. When you create or join a clan you can be promoted to posts according to the leader. You are given some time before the fight to plan your strategies or just wait for an attack. When the bars are down you can start the fight, the last team standing would

Fist of Gutix

Probably the most liked and enjoyable minigame for Free World. You need to collect many charges as possible and should be more than your opponent to win. When you win you get ratings and tokens. The tokens are the heart of this game. From the tokens you can buy much new stuff and they are cool. If you are clever enough then you can win to a high level too but if not you are sure to loose. Just entering the center won’t do it, you need to run and escape out of the opponent’s sight.

So can these minigames really hold the load of Free Worlds?
