Loki

Loki has had a rather interesting life so far. Originally, he lived with his Daddycat, Nana's younger son. Then Daddycat lost his job and finding a new one would involve a lot of travel, so last May Loki came to live with his Nana for the summer, or so he thought. Nana has two dogs, so Loki moving in with them was rather a shock for both the dogs and Loki. They all get along fine now, though Loki does sometimes object to having his butt sniffed while he is napping on a chair. Daddycat has found a new job, but it involves moving around a lot, so Loki is living with Nana from now on, or until things settle down for Daddycat. Loki misses Daddycat, but he comes to visit whenever he can. Nana is spoiling Loki a bit. She buys him lots of toys and has introduced him to cat treats, which he never had before. Nana has discovered that Loki really likes catnip and she keeps a special stash for him. Loki knows where the stash is and will love all over Nana while looking at the catnip drawer. This usually works for him, but not always. In visiting around the cat blogs, Loki discovered Reese and fell in love. He dreams of her often.

Loki's in love with a cat named Reese.
Just seeing her makes him squeeze
                                                         His eyes in delight.
                                                         He dreams all night
Of the fun he could have with his darling Reese.

Loki

Loki loves lying on this couch.  It has been his favorite place since he was a puppy, about four years ago.  You can see that the couch has a bit of wear and tear from Loki's bouncing and romping on it.  When his Mom first moved into the house, it was her first time to live all on her own.  She got furniture from Goodwill, then decided what the place needed was a good dog.  She went online to find what dogs were available for adoption in her area and found Loki.  He was named Blue then, but he turned out to be a bit of a mischief-maker, so his name got changed to Loki.  He is an Australian Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix and has one brown eye and one blue eye.  He is very friendly and thinks that he is a lap dog, in spite of his size.  His Grandmama used to come over to check on him and play with him while the Mom was at work when he was the only furry and he still gets all excited whenever she comes over and insists on sitting in her lap.  Before Dana, the other dog, was adopted he used to amuse himself in the backyard by herding sticks and tree limbs.  Loki is the guardian of the house.  He makes several tours of inspection around the house and yard each day to make sure that there are no intruders around.  He loves the cats, though he has gotten a little grumpy with them at times, and lets them cuddle with him.  He wasn't too fond of Tybalt when Tybalt was first adopted.  Tybalt was fascinated by Loki's feathery tail.  Loki had quite a time convincing Tybalt that his tail was not the best kitty toy ever.  They are good friends now.

                                    Loki was a mischievious pup.
He always wanted to know "What's up?"
                                          He bounced on the couch
                                          Until it said, "Ouch!"
He doesn't bounce so much now he's all grown up.

Loki

This is what Loki looked like after he decided to explore the fireplace.  His Mom managed to get him all cleaned up again.  Loki is two years old and loves to get into mischief.  He is a Maine Coon and he is getting really big.  I think he is now the biggest cat in the house, which is an accomplishment because there are seven other cats living with him.  Loki was adopted after the other Maine Coon in the house went to the Rainbow Bridge and the Mom felt that she really needed a Maine Coon in the mix.  She went to the breeder the other cat had come from and fell in love with Loki and brought him home.  Poor Loki found himself very lonely, as the other cats didn't want to have anything to do with a rambunctious, very floofy kitten.  The Mom and Dad called the breeder to see if there were any more kittens still available and there were.  This time the Dad did the picking, because he had always wanted to have a cat he could name Monkey.  As it turned out, the kitten he picked turned out to be Loki's litter-brother.  The two of them recognized each other at once and have been gleefully together ever since.  The name of Loki's litter-brother became Monkee and you may remember that he is the one who likes to sit in a frying pan on the stove to keep warm.  Loki is very agile, but has trouble with his jumps sometimes.  He has grown so quickly that his self-image of how big he is hasn't kept up with how big he actually is.  Sometimes he will try to jump into a space that is too small for him and his front paws make it, but there is no room for his back paws and he falls.  As a pair, Loki and Monkee are known as the Doofi (pronounced doof-eye), the plural of doofus, as they are quite a pair.

Loki decided to explore the fireplace.
He got black soot on his head and face.
                                                    His Mom got him clean,
                                                    But does this mean
That Loki will now avoid the fireplace?

LOKi

This is LOKi.  He is a big mancat who lives with his sister, called Bean, and his humans.  He hasn't blogged since July, but the archives make interesting reading.  He likes snuggling with his Mom, spying on the neighbors, digging almost to China, licking his Mom whenever she is wearing perfume or sunblock (it has a flavor) and teasing his sister.  He also likes cookies, especially ginger snaps and Dutch cookies.  He loves his toys, espcially the nip ones.  In fact, he loves nip in any form.  When the Christmas tree goes up, he loves drinking the water the tree sits in.

LOKi is a cat whom variety favors.
First he is there, spying on the neighbors.
                                                  Then he digs a hole
                                                  For whatever goal.
Then he is begging for cookies, especially Dutch flavors.
