Primary Carnival
This year was the third annual primary carnival. The kids look forward to this every year. We were nervous when the forecast said rain but luckily they were able to move most of the activities into the cultural hall, leaving only the dunk tank and few other games outside. Tad was fascinated by the dunk tank. He took a couple of turns trying to throw the ball and knock someone in. He was so sad when he didn't on his last turn and said, "But I want to dunk that guy." The bishop was the one in the tank and was nice enough to just let him push the button and knock him in.
Random August/September Pics
Tad walking around in some itty bitty build a bear shoes, looks so fancy.
One Sunday morning when the mean collecting fast offerings came to our door they informed us that we had a bat on our porch. Sure enough there it was, and it slept there all day long. Now my kids look for bats in the mornings to see if we have any others.Tad can and does fall asleep anywhere and everywhere. Usually 11 o'clock church is torture because it is right in the middle of nap time but Tad just zonks whenever he is ready. In this case folded in half with his head hanging off of the bench, so not comfortable.
We've been packing a lunch and picnicking at the park once a week. This last week we tried a new one with this fun rock climbing volcano. Tad thought it was super cool, it did weird him out at first though and he immediately told me to get him down.

Harvey's First Bath
Harvey was born with a really FAT cord. I don't know if that is why it took so long to fall off but it was a full four weeks before this boy got his first real bath.
So much more enjoyable than those sponge baths.Harvey is quite the spectacle. My kids love him and are constantly wanting to watch whatever he is doing. They found the bath very entertaining.
After his bath he got all dressed up for church, Kris's mom bought this cute suit for him.
Soccer
We signed up the older three kids for soccer again this season. When we looked at our schedule for the next seven Saturdays I questioned our sanity a little bit but the kids like it so we went for it. Last year because Matt coached all the teams they were really careful to not have the games overlap. This year we have plenty of overlap. One Saturday we had a game at 11, 11:30 and 12. It makes for a hectic couple of hours but in some ways is nice to not have them stretched out all day long.
Here we were with them all ready to play.
We were able to get them all number four jerseys this year.
I kind of begged Demzi to not play soccer this season. She didn't seem to love it last season and I could think of so many other things I thought she would enjoy more. She insisted she wanted to play so we signed her up. Her first game she didn't really get into it a lot but she improves more each time she plays.
Liam on the other hand loves to play. He scored a goal at his first game and was super proud of himself. He likes to give us a big thumbs up as he runs by, sometimes meaning that he gets distracted from where the ball is, but he is having tons of fun.
At Liam's game the other three kids went to the playground to play. I looked over to see Tad throwing the ball on tether ball and then running away so he wouldn't get hit. It kept him occupied for the entire game.
Addie does really well. Her age group actually uses positions so she seems to play defense the most. She says that she likes both but she is a little bit more aggressive when she is on defense. It is still intimidating to get in front of someone and steal the ball away but she is doing better.
I kind of dreaded the madness heading into it but it has been fun to have games to go watch each Saturday. It is fun to see how much they are improving each week.
Liam's First Day of School
After Labor Day it was finally time for Liam to start school. He has been super excited to go ever since the girls started back, especially since he knew that he was in class with all of his cousins.
Alicia drove the kids to school that day and was able to get some pictures of the kids all together.
Onion Days
This year we spent labor day at Payson Onion Days, like we have every other year. The kids had tons of fun. We got to the parade early to ensure we got our regular seats (we had left our chairs the night before to save our spot). We decided to not bring our nice camera this year so we wouldn't have to worry about hauling it around with everything else. So we just snapped a few phone photos. While we waited for the parade to start there was someone walking the route handing out helium balloons. Right after that someone came by making balloon animals. The kids were having tons of fun playing with their balloons which made the wait go that much faster,
Then the parade finally started so the kids moved to the edge of the blanket so they could get as much candy as possible. They actually did pretty good regulating themselves. Kris told them they could each eat a few pieces then they needed to hand them to me to save for later, which for the most part the older kids all did. At one point I realized that nobody was regulating Tad in all this and I think I caught him as he was opening his fourth sucker.
After the parade we moved our chairs over to listen to the last band concert of the season. Then Kris's mom took all the older kids to the kids carnival so we walked the booths and visited the book fair. The kids had tons of fun at the carnival, they haven't done it in years past but Liam still talks about petting the animals and playing the games. Such a fun weekend.
Addie's Field Trip
Addie has already gone on a field trip for school this year. They were able to go to the Timpanogas Storytelling Festival. Kris took the day off of work so he could help chaperone. He said the stories were really funny and they all had tons of fun.
Mom and Dad's Birthday Celebration
Last year's birthday bash was so much fun that we decided to make the Jack and Jill's celebration an annual thing. We scheduled it earlier in the year this time so we actually got the VIP room and started earlier so we'd have time to play and still camp out in my parents' backyard. This year it fell on my parents' actual birthday.
We got each person a birthday package that included bowling, two games of laser tag and a $5 arcade card. We started the night with bowling. This was just while we were waiting for everyone else to get there.
(Despite all of our best planning after this the battery died so I don't have anymore pictures so the rest were donated by Alicia)
After bowling everyone went off to use their arcade cards while we waited to be able to do laser tag. Alicia and I stayed back in the VIP room to nurse our babies. Once everyone had used their arcade cards we played our two games of laser tag. It was not as crowded this year and we were able to play one after the other. The kids loved it. Tad cried as I took his vest/gun off of him and wanted to back in and play again.
After finishing up at Jack and Jill's we took the kids to my parents to watch a movie outside and camp. My parents were nice enough to let us leave all the kids there (except babies) and the parents went home to sleep. So much fun! Happy birthday mom and dad!
