Matchbox 20 Report....WAY AWESOME!

Jeff gave me the coolest Valentine's Day present...two tickets to Matchbox 20! At the time he bought them, he figured he would be the one going with me, but a work trip to New Jersey came up so he couldn't go. So, who else would I ask, but my bestest friend Kelli! She was an awesome date and we had a great time! (Thanks for going, KK) A group called Mute Math opened, then Alanis Morisette, and then Matchbox!
Two girls out on the town!
Anxiously waiting for the concert to begin
My sweet t-shirt :)

More MB 20

Alanis walking back and forth...back and forth....it was funny. That's pretty much all she did...walk back and forth while singing. Oh well, she was great!
Us...again!
Look...I got a pic with the band!
The band
Ah, the awesome Rob Thomas!

So, as you can tell, probably the word to sum it up...AWESOME. And, huge thanks to the Hongs for watching Allison! You're the best!

Aahhh...

I thought this was so cute, I had to share it! The other day I was cleaning up after dinner and Jeff says, hey Cara come here. I go into the livingroom and this is what I see. Jeff said that Allison came over and climbed into his arms on her own. Jeff was in heaven!

What's your obsession?

My current obsession is blogging. I'm not necessarily obsessed with posting on my blog as some of my so called friends (and you know who you are) like to point out, but rather looking at other people's blogs. I'm amazed at the amount of time I spend looking at people's blogs and sometimes I don't even know the person! I will be looking at one of my friend's blogs and check out their favorite links and see someone's name that I think I know only to find that I don't but I can't stop reading about their lastest luck and misfortune and before you know it an hour as past! I could have gotten so many other things done during that time, but like I said, blogs are my latest obsession.
And, as you can tell from previous posts, I can't do a post and not include something about Allison. So, I will share Allison's latest obsessions too! It seems that her "looking for toe-boogies" obsession has just ended. Yeah, toe-boogies. She was constantly taking off her socks and shoes and checking to make sure she didn't have sock lint or whatever in between her toes. Thankfully, it seems that that phase has ended. And, now she has a new love..."driving". I made the mistake of putting her in the driver seat a couple of days ago so that I could hook her car seat in (don't worry, the car was turned off!). Now everytime we go to the car she begs, "driving, driving, driving". Here she is "driving".
I have to admit, she is pretty cute pretending to drive, but I figured we had at least 14 more years before we had a child begging to drive the car.

Killer Shades!

Allison sportin' her shades while going on a walk to the park to meet Danny and Carrie.
Even after we got back from the park, she still wanted to wear them in the house.

Putting Allison to work!

With tax season in full swing, we thought we would let Allison take over that task for us this year.
Here she is calculating our deductions, tax credits, etc....
Um...slackin' on the job. Instead of working she is watching her Aunt Jess (for the 500th time!) lip sync to Aaron Neville. (Luv ya, Jess!)

So Sweet

I meant to post this litte tidbit after the v-day pics, but since I don't have any pics (yet) I forgot. Jeff and I aren't real big on the Valentine's Day flowers, stuffed animals, etc. thing, but he surprised me with an awesome gift this year. Inside a very sweet card were tickets to a Matchbox 20 concert on Feb 28! I'm super excited cuz after all I am a huge fan. I will post pics and a review later! Thanks Jeff! You're an awesome husband and friend. Luv ya!

Princess Allison

After having the ultrasound years ago that told us we were going to have a girl, Jeff's wonderful mom gave me an adorable "Princess Dress". She told me that one day this little girl would come to me and say mommy I want to be a princess, and now I could say well I already have your dress! Well, that day came today! And, I must say she is a very sweet princess! Thank you Grandma!
PRINCESS ALLISON
Allison is into all things girly these days. Bracelets, make-up, lip gloss, and anything that we can stick in her hair!
The Princess and her entourage, "monkey" and "snuggy bear" watching Nemo in their usual spot on the couch. She always has to have the blanket under her and have some of her stuffed animal posse close by.
This smile was the only response I could get from her while watching Nemo.

Daddy and Daughter

There is nothing quite like watching Daddy and Daughter. And, I love watching these two. Jeff is an amazing dad and Allison of course adores him! We had a great time decorating sugar cookies. Allison's sugar level shot through the roof after discovering frosting and sprinkles!

V-Day Celebrations!

I've looked forward to this day for a long time! No, not Valentine's Day. But, the day when I got to bring out the construction paper, glue sticks, and stickers and make "stuff" with Allison! Jeff used to tease me about getting out the crayons and a coloring book and just coloring! But, I find it relaxing and now I have someone to do it with! So, here we are making Valentine's Day cards for Jeff!
I was actually pretty impressed with Allison using colored pencils. She did pretty good for a first timer!
As you can see, she took it pretty seriously!
She got a little carried away with the stickers, but who doesn't!?
Blowin' kisses!
We had a lot of fun. So, I'm thinking maybe St. Patrick's Day cards?!

Say, "Cheese!"

Allison has finally reached the age where she loves cameras! And, she has become quite the cheeser! Here she is modeling her favorite monkey backpack from Aunt Jessica!

Allison cheesin' it while having snack time in an empty diaper box. I promise her hair is usually combed, but I'm going to use the excuse that it was really rainy that day and we weren't going anywhere anyway.

And, Allison cheesin' it while sportin' mom's running shoes. (Hey, I'm glad someone is getting some use out of them!)

Allison and Company

Allison will be two in May and I have to say, I love this age! One of the things I love is watching her play with her little friends.

Allison and Katie playing "Super Girls". Pretty much their idea. I was folding towels and they stole a couple of them and were putting them over heads, so I grabbed clothes pins and hooked them on like capes! I thought this would provide at least 20 minutes of entertainment for them, but it only lasted about 2 minutes.

Allison blowing bubbles with Michael. Michael's dad is Andrew Peck who Jeff and I went to high school with. We found out a couple of months ago that Andrew and fam live here in Houston while he is going to U of H School of Opera. Always fun to have friends from home! We found out they were living here through Facebook, so if you have a Facebook account and we aren't friends yet, look me up!

Allison, Michael, and Ethan jammin' out with Tom Petty during Superbowl Halftime! Go Giants! (Well, really I just like the Manning brothers)

Allison and Danny watching Finding Nemo. Yeah, for Disney movies that kids can watch over and over and over again!
