Summer Fun

I am so excited that we finally have good weather and so we can start summer. I love being a Mom, but I absolutely love being a Mom in the summer time. I think it is a lot easier to keep children happy when we can go to the park, go swimming, go to the zoo or just be outside enjoying the weather.

Addie started swimming lessons last week with her two best friends, Jackson and Kenedy. They have had such a fun time. I have been very impressed at how well they have all done. Addie absolutely loves the water and the sun. She could not leave home without her pink dress and pink sunglasses!

Girls Night

Tea Party Fun...

My Mom's family has a fun party every year that all of the girls dress up and have a nice dinner. This year was a special tea party dedicated to my cousin Emily for her birthday. Addie was in heaven with a small tea set that she could pour her own water and use a mini cup. All of the little girls got to make flower head rings. We had a great time... Thank you Julie for all of your hard work.

Yes...we are still alive

We have been on a little blogging hiatus, but I am happy to announce that we are back! Here is a little on what Smith family has been up to while we were AWOL. First things first we are still alive and doing well. Elle has been a challenging baby to say the least, we are finally on the upswing after finding out that she is allergic to dairy, beans, broccoli, nuts, oranges and chocolate which means that I can not have any of these things. It has definitely rocked my world. We don't have very many pictures of her because she was either sleeping or crying for the first 6 weeks of her life. Addie has been a great big sister, she is always willing to help and she absolutely loves her baby sister...sometimes a little too much. I guess you can never have too much love, right!

Here is a little update....

Elise has started to smile and coo alot, it has been so fun to see her start to respond and react to us. She has also hit a big mile stone... she has started to sleep through the night. She has been sleeping through the night for almost 3 weeks. It has been so nice for me to catch up on many hours of lost sleep.

Addie is our big helper...she will feed Elle a bottle, sing her a song to get her to stop crying or just lay by her in her pack and play. She is a great big sister.

About a week ago we went into Addie's bedroom to check on her and to our surprise we found an empty bed. At first we were kind of nervous we looked in the closet and in the corners of her bedroom but she was no where to be found. Just when a small hint of panic was about to set in we heard some very faint snoring coming from underneath you guessed it her bed. We flipped up the bed skirt and sure enough there she was peacefully sleeping. As we pulled Addie out we realized that she wasn't the only thing under the bed...Who can go to sleep without having the necessary gear? 4 blankets, 2 bunnies, a doll, a sippy cup, and books.

Addie is our little cowgirl. Over memorial weekend we went to delta and Addie loved riding Uncle Jayson's horse around for a while. She was in heaven.

Our little family hike. We decided to venture out and take the girls on a little hike. They both really enjoyed it. Addie loved to see the waterfall and Elle enjoyed sleeping while we hiked.

Elise's blessing day went great. Jeremy did a great job. Thank you to all of our friends and family that came to support us. It was a lovely day. My biggest fear was that Elle would cry through the whole blessing and to my surprise...she did great and had her best day yet. Life is a little sweeter every day.

The adventures of triathlons. Jeremy had the St. George triathlon the middle of May. This is the 3rd year that he has done this triathlon. Jeremy did a great job. The weather conditions were definitely not ideal. It was extremly windy. The Olympic distance men (1 mi. swim, 25 mi. bike, 6.2 mi. run) went first, right after Jeremy got out of the water search and rescue started to pull swimmers out of the water due to the severe weather conditions; white caps are not the safest conditions to swim in. Those who completed the swim took double the time than usual. I was grateful that Jeremy was already done with the swim. This was one race that I was happy to be a spectator and not a racer. It was a great weekend with Ty and Aimee.

Jeremy completed his first 1/2 Ironman (1.2 mi. swim, 56 mi. bike, 13.1 mi. run). I am so proud of him. When Jeremy puts his mind to something he has the will power to dedicate himself and do whatever it takes to complete that goal. He has been training approximately 15-20 hours a week to get ready for this race. It has been one of his life long goals that he wanted to complete. I was hoping after the last race that he would get perfect weather conditions, he was not that lucky. It was extremly windy again, and freezing. It was about 45 degrees in the air, and the water was about 51 degrees. It is not very often that racers say that the water felt warm at 50 degrees. He did a great job... he came in 5th in his division and 42nd overall out of 250-275 participants. Great job Jeremy!
