Feeling Stupid

Holy crap, I feel dumb!

So, I was supposed to graduate last May, right?  Had a party and everything.  Except I hadn't finished my history correspondence class, so I was going to do that and technically graduate in July, which wouldn't have been a big deal.  Summer graduates get to go to whatever graduation they want the year they graduate.  Cool.

Except then, we got to July and I hadn't had a single stinkin' bite in the job sea.  Not one.  So the likelihood we would continue being able to pay bills was...well, not.  Yeah.  We decided I shouldn't graduate in July, and I took classes in the fall so I could get living expenses and we could keep managing to eat.

Except by the time we got to November, I STILL hadn't had a single job bite.  I landed a job at a movie theatre a week before Christmas (which has since gone away because they didn't have enough hours), but it wouldn't manage to do more than counteract the drain of finally having insurance.  So I didn't finish the class again.  This time, it really upset me.  I started looking into alternative things I could do to improve my hireability, including going back to school after I finished, and hiring myself out as a sideshow ballroom dancer (okay, not really).  I was all set and insistent that no matter what else happened, I was graduating this May.

Classes started the 17th.  The last time I looked, probably about the 14th, the application to graduate wasn't available.  We had a crappy week of everybody having an explosive stomach bug, and then a week of confusion.  So I finally remembered to go do it today...and it closed yesterday.  10 whole days they gave us to apply to graduate.  10.  Not even two whole weeks.  What crap is that?!?!

So I don't get to graduate this May.  Again.  I have to wait until July to get my diploma.  Which is so very, very funny, I think I might cry...

Oh well.  I suppose I should look on the bright side.  This way (assuming I have credits left before they won't give me financial aid...), I'll be able to take those prereqs I really wanted to take this semester, but couldn't get off the waitlist for.

UGH!

February Goals

I dissolved my Journey of 1000 Groans several weeks back.  It served its purpose, and I've got this blog still as well as...er...two more.  Hee.  So I don't really need that one, too!  But that means that my to-do lists and goal lists will be getting posted here.  If nothing else, you can see how (un)productive I've been.

February Goals:
- Get enough doula learnin' done to start attending births. (I might want to write a post on that, too, huh?)
   - Doula workshop!
   - Childbirth classes!
   - Lots o' reading!
   - Breastfeeding course!
   - Find some good, new relaxation techniques!
- Join some kind of exercise program (free would be nice).
- Write 30k.
- Get brain sorted (though if I can do that before Feb, that would be good!).
- Take Berrykin to his first storytime, to see if it's something we want to make happen weekly.
- Compile a new, healthy recipe folder.
- Finish weaning baby off of bottle.
- Organize bedroom and closets.
