Blast Off!

Saturday morning we went to watch the scouts shoot off rockets.
Luke helped Ben shoot off his rocket.
Gabe watching.

Saturday afternoon we went to Ben's newphew's football game.
He had a great game. Way to go stud!

Ben built us a coffee-table chest for the family room that we can store blankets in. It looked great and I'm so proud of him. Unfortunately when he brought it into the house it looked so big that I couldn't hold back my first reaction, which was, "It looks like a coffin." Luckly we found a great place for it that wasn't in the center of the room.

Rainy Weekend

I love these rubber boots! I found the rain storm quite refreshing over the weekend (not to make Katie and Dan, down in Arizonz, jealous. Wait you are about to go into a beautiful Arizona fall, winter, and spring. Now I'm jealous)
The rain didn't stop the kids from wanting to go outside, so I suited them up.
Determined to play football in the rain
This only lasted so long because he tried to drink it.
Luke's painting-
I had to bite my tongue when he started painting his arms and using them to paint.
I didn't want to cramp his creative space.
Gabe loves to play doctor.
Luke always up for some dramatic play.
All better
So these are a few of the things we did this weekend while dad spent the night camping with the scouts. Pictures not shown- #1 trying to pick a movie in Blockbuster with Gabe screaming to get down and Luke pulling movies off the shelf. #2 the look of relief on my face when dad got home the next day.

Dad & Son Trip

Ben and Luke and Ben's dad went to
Provo for the weekend to watch a BYU game.

New BYU hat and shorts for the game.

With Cosmo. Luke got to help ring the victory bell at the end.
Gabe and I hang out with my sister, Becky, her baby, Ryker, and our mom.
We had dinner, cold stone ice cream, and a movie in: "Sense and Sensibility"

Pictures to make grandma smile

Rocking faces
This is one of 10 pictures I found on my camara yesterday.
Luke had a photo shoot.
Luke's lego creation
I thought this was cute. Gabe in Luke's shoes. Good picture Luke.
Gabe reunited with his blue blanket after a week long absence.
New shoes make you run faster
Somehow we made it out of the store with the $8 tennis shoes on sale instead of the $20 transformer shoes, not by Luke's choosing. He's still happy with the new ones. He wears a 12 1/2 now. He skipped a whole size over the summer.

Cereal

Our family's favorite cereals:
Ben and I: Raisin Nut Bran
Luke: Honey Nut Cheerios
Gabe: Frosted Mini Wheats
with a mix of all the cereals on the table.

So I made a decision long ago that I would try not to feed my kids sugar cereal. I was raised on "wholesome" breakfasts of oatmeal, cream of wheat, pancakes, eggs, and wheatie cereals. Being that breakfast is one of my boys heartiest meals, I thought it would be good to continue the tradition of "wholesome" cereals. Well I found that I have two down falls to this plan....

Reese's Puffs & Lucky Charms

I can't help myself from occasionally indulging.
These cereals aren't the steel oats that Ben's mom eats, but I like to enjoy them with the kids every so often. (Mom I love the steal oat cereal too.)

WE WELCOME A NEW COUSIN!

CONGRADULATIONS DAN & KATIE!

That makes 13 cousins for Lucas and Gabe :)

BYU v.UW by Ben

Me all dudded up with the hair and all.

The weekend Heather said was great wouldn't have been had BYU lost that game. The fans were great, the scenery was spectacular, and the weather couldn't have been more perfect...but all that would have been flushed without the win.

This is Heather and I just before the game in the stands at Husky stadium.Beautiful stadium but still nothing like the real thing at Lavell Edwards in Provo UT!!

This is Heather and former BYU standout Tight End Spencer Nead with Lake Washington in the background. We could yell as much as we wanted becuase we were surrounded by former BYU football players. It was great.

The infamous 'Haka' Dance just before kickoff. this is where I start to get light-headed. Love it.

The crowd was electric and it was great to hear them quiet down when we started scoring. I love BYU football. It comes third behind my family and my faith; it's a very close third.

Seattle Weekend

Ben and I had a weekend get-away to Seattle.
The kids stayed home with our best friends.
First stop: Music Experience Project Musuem
Check out the exterior of the building. This part looked like a big slide.
Inside the Museum

Instrument sculpture. Amazing!

They had stations that taught you to play guitar, bass, drums, and piano improv. I learned to play "Wild Thing" on the bass. They also had a simulated concert and karyoke. They recorded the whole thing and then you could watch it afterward. My mom played the drums, my dad played the guitar, Ben was the lead singer and I played the piano. We rocked!
There was a Science Fiction Museum connected to the museum.
It was weird, except for the Star Wars displays.
We were sad that Luke missed this part.
We went to Pike's Market for Lunch. We sampled food around the market. Rasberries, chocolate covered nuts, chocolate pasta, corn on the cob, a salmon filled pastry, a marrionberry/cream pastry, a panini turkey sandwich, and apple/blueberry juice.
Went dancing that night. We learned tango at the workshop before the dance. We had fun even though we looked like beginners compared to the other dancers there. We danced the waltz, swing, cha-cha, tango, and salsa.
On the walk down the greenbelt, after the BYU game, we found these beautiful blackberries on the side of the walk way. We should have known it was to good to be true. Ben stepped closer to pick and he sunk up to his ankle in MUD. Well since he was already muddy he picked. There was a bunch up high that we HAD TO HAVE. So Ben lifted me you there. They were delious on cheesecake that night.
Ben will be posting about BYU game. It was totally an exciting game!
