Happiness in the simple things!

Happy 50th Birthday mom!
We celebrated Ben's mom's birthday over the weekend.
She is the sweetest, loving mom. She amazing!
She just ran a half marathon with us. She makes 50 look good!
We love her so much!
Ben's Cousin's Family was sealed in the temple this weekend.
It was precious to be a part of. We are super happy for them.
I was delighted to find the first fruits of my garden this week.
We also ate a spinach salad from the garden for dinner.

I made this apron last week.
It is sentimental to me because I used fabric that had belonged to my grandma.
That woman knew how to cook and she gave the
best squishy hugs and I love her so much. (Luke took the picture for me.)
So Luke's happiness this week was getting the Star Wars Lego Video game
and Star Wars books from the library. He has also pick up the hobby of photography.
He takes pictures of his toys. Yesterday I was looking at my photos on my cell phone, and to my surprise Luke had taken about 50 pictures that I didn't know about. It was pretty funny.

Gabe's happiness this week has come from chocolate pudding. It's great to pass on the love of chocolate.

These faces bring me the most happiness!

The Best Family Reunion Ever!

My grandparents celebrated their
60th Anniversary with a family reunion.
It was a fantastic weekend of family and super fun activities.

Horse riding

Rock climbing

Swimming
(Gabe is a water baby. He loves to jump in,
go under water, and float on his back.
Luke showed off his skills by jumping off the driving board
and swimming most of the way across the pool.
Ben won the cannon ball competition.)

Blow up things

Snow cones

Paintballing (Our mean faces)

Kids train

The cousins all together.

Hi-lights: All of the activities, Visiting with cousins, Great food, all the grandkids singing at the program, church with my grandparents on Sunday

Low-lights: Jumping in the pool with my clothes on to save Luke,
Ben's swollen red eyes and hives on his neck from a hay allergy(can be seen
in rock climbing picture), the paintball welt on the back of my arm,
and the strawberry stain on Gabe's white shirt right before church
(Thank goodness for "tide-to-go" provided by my sister-in-law).

Something Is Wrong With This Picture

Born to be wild!

Ben and the Boys sitting in the gutter in a rain storm.
Winter coats, slickers, and pants. Come on it's June!
Went fishing this weekend.
Ben, nice bass for a neighborhood pond dweller. haha

The kids were amazed by the bass' big mouth.
Ben told Gabe to kiss the fish, and he tried to do it.
This is wrong!
Ben's first catch was the bass,
and this is my first catch, a little blue gill.

(I can only brag that I caught the
first fish of our marriage in June 2000.)

So last weekend we went to the video arcade with the extended family.
I don't think this can be considered cheating if you look at the score.

The firey competition of a four year old.

Grown men on their knees playing kids air hockey.
My attempt at dance revolution.
I look like an idiot, but it was fun.

Enjoying the bedtime routine

Our boys are stuck to their "blue blankets".
They like to hold them right up to their noses.

Bath-time is extra fun with bubbles!

Gabe's cute froggy PJs to match the cute pouty face.

Before bed we have family prayer, give hugs, and sing a song.
Gabe has finally caught on how to fold his arms,
and Luke has memorized "I am a child of God". He loves to sing.

Folded arms and kissy face.

Silly pictures.

Luke's preformance of "I am a Child of God"
(Don't mind Gabe's cries in the background.
I had just laid him down for a nap.)

It worked for me in the 90's

So the other morning I thought I would try hot rollers in my hair since it's grown so long. I use to do this all the time in high school. This was the result-Super curls.

This is with some taming. Not to bad.

Luckily I can rely on my hair to go completely flat by the end of the day.
