Mommy, Before I go to Bed...

Parker is the master of stalling.  Whenever it is bedtime, he always tries to find ways to prolong the inevitable.  First it's "Mom, will you read me a story?".  Followed by the "Mom/Dad, will you sit by me for a little bit?".

Next comes the "I'm thirsty" and/or "I'm hungry".

Then it's "I can't stop thinking about the scary thing from the Barty Crouch Show."

Finally, tonight, Parker came downstairs and sat on the couch next to me.  He just couldn't stop thinking about scary things from the Barty Crouch Show.  So he sat next to me telling me that nothing was going to stop him from thinking about scary things.  He told me nothing would stop him so I told him to imagine taking one of his best stuffed animal friends to the candy factory or to Cupcake Land.  He said it wouldn't work.  So he wanted to make a list of things that he could think about.  I told him he needs to go to bed rather than make a list.  So then he says to me, "Mom, first I have something I have to ask you.  Have I ever been to Pizza Hut?"

That made me laugh.  I told him that he should remember the time we went there on our way to Canada.  That finally worked and I told him he could make a list tomorrow.  He went to bed and hopefully he falls asleep fast!

Memorial Day

Today our family is going out to take pictures.  Emily wants to improve her photography skills and we all needed to get out of the house.  We're not sure where we'll go, but we're going to have some fun.  We're going to pack some picnic stuff and just drive.

PERHAPS I will have time to post some of our photos on here.  I know Emily wants to update her blog with her own photos.

There's been a major gap with what's been going on.  I can't believe it's the end of May already!  I'm still wondering where January went!  I have a lot to catch you all up on.  Stay tuned.  However, if you don't want to wait, John's blog (Enhance Your Calm) is a great place to get updated on our lives.  Be well, John Spartan (if you've seen Demolition Man, this will make sense to you with the Enhance Your Calm title).
