We hiked walnut canyon last weekend. This was our second time doing it. It is one of my favorite areas here. It has Hopi cliff dwellings. I also had to include a picture of Lexi talking on her phone (a calculator) and in my shoes. We've also been enjoying the park. In the picture at the bottom she is trying to catch me after I go down the slide. It was so sweet.

Silly Summer Fun
I knew kids liked to be outside but I didn't realize they wanted to be outside all day. From the moment Lexi wakes up until she goes to sleep all she tells me is "side" and "swing". She loves to do anything outside and loves it when we go to Cole's work for picnic lunches.
This is Lexi's angry face. I swapped babysitting with a friend last weekend. She has a little boy about 6 months older than Lexi. They did not get along. I saw this face a lot while he was here. She would also snort when she made the face.
Lexi likes to slide on things. She was using the dust pan to slide across the kitchen floor while I was sweeping. Every once in a while I would hear her say, "weee". It made me smile. Even sweeping is more fun with Lexi around.
On a side note: I didn't do a Father's Day post but Cole is the best Dad. Lexi is in love with him. She will do anything if I tell her that she has to do it before she can see daddy. I can even get her to leave the park if I tell her daddy's home. When she hears the garage door she looks at me and says, "dada" and then proceeds to run to the door to meet him. Once he is home she doesn't let him out of her sight. He is her best friend. I am often jealous but I am also grateful she has such a great Dad. I am also grateful I have such a great Dad too!

Pine Forest + Fire = Disaster
This is one of the buildings at Cole's work. This is how everything is here. It is a town built around pine trees.
Well, when you mix pine trees and fire it doesn't go very well. We have had three fires in the last two weeks. This is the smoke from the current fire. It is the biggest. The last report I heard was 14,000 acres. This is the view of the fire from town. As you can see it is pretty far away from this end of town. We are all fine but feel grateful that none of the fires have been near our area. Thanks for all of your concern.
Snacks + sippy + book = happy back seat driver.

Memorial Day/ Hike 4
We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Friday we went to Bearizona. It is a wildlife drive thru park. It was fun but the bears gave me chills. They were only a foot away from the car which was a little too close for me. We went to dinner in Williams and enjoyed the change of scenery. My favorite part of the entire weekend was there when we were walking the streets. They had live music and Lexi loved it. She was dancing and laughing and having the best time. Cole and I agreed it was one of those priceless family moments. Saturday we went to the swimming pool. Lexi was so afraid. She wouldn't leave my arms. It took a long time for her to get brave enough to stand on her own. After swimming we went to Oregano's for pasta and dessert. It was so good! Sunday we enjoyed church and spending time together relaxing. Lexi was funny when we were getting ready for church. I put her in a dress that is quite long on her and she kept crying off and trying to rip it off. She was so insistent that I changed her out-fit to a short shirt and then she was fine. Monday some friends invited us on a hike. We went to Red Mountain Trail in Flagstaff. It was a nice hike and we enjoyed spending time with the Kings and Owens.
