Jack's Heaven

Yesterday, was such a lazy day at our house. Vic is pretty sick, I wasn't feeling well and neither was Jack. Thankfully today, Vic is the only one still not feeling well. Yesterday, however, Jack just wanted to relax and watch his videos. I try to space out the Mickey Mouse ones, cause he could seriously watch them all day every day. So, once a week I let him watch one. I was in the kitchen cooking, and when I walked into the living room I saw him all reclined in his new chair he got for Christmas. He doesn't go anywhere without some sort of soccer ball, baseball, basketball or football in his hands at all times. If they are not in his hands, that means he just threw them at the dogs. I swear we have like 4 of each type of ball, and he will line them up and play with them in turn. He is doing really well with kicking the soccer ball around the house, and he know that the basketball goes in the hoop. My kid may not know his body parts, but by golly he knows his balls!! :)

Oh, and he has is foot up, because normally when we are chillin together I rub his feet. This is his way of telling me to come and rub his foot... yes your highness, I am coming. I actually think this would be Jack's Heaven. Watching Mickey Mouse, holding a soccer ball, me rubbing his feet with one hand and feeding him pretzel rods with my other.

6 year anniversary

Today was my 6 year wedding anniversary. We really didn't do a whole lot today, just spent the day playing with Jack and all his toys he got from Christmas. Yesterday, Vic and I did more celebrating. We met up with some friends for lunch at the Gateway then headed on over to the theater to watch Avatar 3D. That movie was AMAZING!! I loved it! The music in it was outstanding. After the movie we had about 30 min to kill before our next activity so since it was insanely bitter cold out, Vic went and bought me a hoodie. Ahh, such a sweetie. Then we trekked over to the Energy Solutions Center and went to the Jazz game. They won, but halfway through the game both Vic and I were yawning. I think we are on Jack's schedule, cause as soon as 8pm hits we start winding down -we are getting so old! Since the Jazz won, they were giving out coupons for all this free fast food. Of course one of the coupons was for Big Mac's (which is Vic's most favorite food -he just doesn't allow himself to ever eat it). So on our drive home we had to stop at a McDonald's for Vic's late night meal. He worked out like a mad man today, to burn off those calories!
It was a really fun weekend and I am sad to see Vic go back to Provo for the next three days. I love having him home. Happy 6 years baby, I can't wait to see what the 7th brings!

Merry Christmas!

What a wonderful day today was. Even though Jack is still too young to realize what today is about, I feel he still knew something was going on. He woke up at 8:30 and was so excited. He was jumping up and down in his crib and giggling like crazy. I had set up his "santa" gifts on the couch and when he saw these he was all "ohhhhhh". He was so excited! Then my mom, dad, Cathie and Jaidyn came over for Christmas morning. Mom and dad got Jack a cute little kid chair that folds down to a bed. Cathie got Jack this awesome toddler motorcycle, he wasn't too sure about riding it yet, but he loved pushing it around the living room. Jack hit the mother load with the amount of toys he got. He even got "Bruce the moose" from uncle Chad. Jack loved body slamming him. Now onto the gift Vic gave me. He didn't want to do an ordinary gift, so instead he made it into a game that involved my family. He came up with "action" cards and "gift" cards. I was given 5 gift cards including something awesome like a dinner at my favorite restaurant to something terrible like 5 awesome high fives. If I didn't want one of my gift cards, I could trade it in, only if I picked a random "action" card. OMG he came up with the craziest action/punishment cards, and if you know Vic you know I am not lying. Some examples of the actions were: shoving an entire piece of bread in my mouth, Cathie having to give me a piggyback ride while feeding me candy, my parents and myself having to give examples of ninja moves, Cathie and I had to give each other peanut butter mustaches and so much more. It was probably one of the funnest Christmas's I have had in a long time and one that I will never forget. In the end, I got a pretty awesome group of gifts from the hubby, and it meant so much to me that he spent the time to put this all together.
After, the game and Jack's nap we ventured on over to my gma's house. We ate and opened presents. Vic was dead tired and crashed under the tree. Jack kept us all on our toes running laps from the kitchen to the living room to the family room. He even tried to help gpa Tom do the dishes. After leaving gma's we went over to Vic's parents for a big turkey dinner. We were spoiled rotten!! Jack got so many presents, I think he is set for years. Vic got the new Mario Bros game he has been begging for and a ton more and I was given money for an e-book. I have been wanting one of those forever! I am so excited! Here are a few pictures of Christmas 2009!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve we went out to my mom and dad's for a big dinner. We had such a nice, relaxing time with all my family and Vic's family. I am so glad that our family's like each other and like spending time together! After dinner we came home, put Jack to bed and I finished up some presents while Vic finished his present to me. He created a game, but that is all he would tell me. I didn't have a good feeling about it, because he would burst out in giggles all the time. I knew this game would be at my expense, but he swore to me it would embarrass me. Hahaha, he lied!!! More on the game on my Christmas post! Here are some pictures of Christmas Eve at the East house! Although it is kind of funny, that I ended up with only pictures of the Chelaru clan!

How in the world!?!

I am still in disbelief as to what I just walked in on. I was in the downstairs bathroom, and I always keep the door open when I am in there so I can listen for or see Jack. He came in to see me for two seconds and then ran out laughing. After that I heard a few giggles, but no big bang or crying. Well, when I walked out to the living room I heard Jack up on the stair landing eating dog food with Koopa. The crazy thing about this is, we have a gate locked on the bottom step, and it was still up!! He somehow climbed up and over the gate, had to of fallen on the step on the other side and continued to climb the stairs to the landing. I didn't know whether to be freaked out or laugh at this. Of course I ran upstairs and had to dig out a few pieces of dog food from Jack's mouth. I am just still so confused as to how this happened. I am in soooo much trouble thinking about the future. If he is this fearless and curious at 16 months, can you imagine what his 2;s and 3's will be like!!! OMG!!!

Weekend with daddy!

Vic came home late Friday night, and had to return to Provo again today. We had such a nice relaxing weekend with him home. Jack loves his daddy so much. He didn't want to leave Vic's side all weekend. Here are some pictures of Vic and I just chillin after we put together Vic's new office chair (his old one was giving him back problems.) Of course, Jack has issues when me and Vic are cuddling or whatever. Jack seems to get very protective of me. He doesn't like Vic too close, or he comes and tries to separate us, then crawls on my lap. Such a mama's boy!!! He also got a kick out of spinning the chair around and around and around. That was his favorite game all day!

And this is what was happing while writing my last post!

Vic is in Provo three days/two nights every week until the end of January. We talk all day on google chat, and I let Jack hit the keyboard every now and then and tell Vic it is Jack's way of saying "I love you." Actually....Jack just took this moment to climb into the kitchen drawer and dance, and of course I went and got pictures. Such a little goober! Oh, please don't judge me on my dirty oven. Between Jack and the two dogs, I can't keep that thing spotless. You can see his little grubby handprints all over it!

Day one with no hives!

I know it is probably too soon to tell, but so far no hives today. Hopefully, like the dr said, they have burnt out of his system. Wahoo! We spent the morning out shopping with Gma and Gpa Chelaru. We had fun, and Jack did very well. He wanted to eat everything in sight, including the nutrigrain box. I had to keep opening the food while we were still shopping for him to eat. You would think that I starved the kid! I swear this boy could eat non stop. Anyway, here are a few pictures of the week. Vic comes home from Provo tonight, but he loves getting picture updates of Jack. I have been slacking big time! Enjoy!

The Case of the Horrible Hives!

So we are still dealing with Jack's hives. Luckily, for him and us, they don't seem to bother him, so no itching or scratching. This started a little over a week ago, and I brought him to his pediatrician. She took one look, said he had hives and to just put him on benadryl and wait it out. I kind of went a little nuts and was trying to figure out if it was a food allergy. I went through everything he had eaten that was different and took it out of his menu. Nothing changed. So, I thought it could be a milk allergy. About two weeks prior to him having hives, he started vomiting every time he drank whole milk. So, I thought the whole milk was upsetting his stomach and I put him on 2%, and the vomiting stopped. Well, shortly after that he got hives. Although, it just didn't seem to line up. It would be very odd to be allergic to milk when he has had up to 5 cups a day since he was a year. Anyways, this was my thought process during the week. I did take him off milk completely for 3 days, and still he got hives.
I finally decided to bring him into my old work to see Dr. Allen. He told me that every person is likely to get two cases of hives in their lifetime. He said he doesn't think it is food allergy, but that he is having a reaction to a virus. He thinks that when Jack was vomiting two weeks ago, it had nothing to do with the milk and just a normal virus. He also said that it is very common for kids to get hives after their body fights off a virus, and that the hives could last up to 4 weeks. If they last longer than 4 weeks, then we should consult an allergist. (So he is not totally ruling out a food allergy). As a result, we are just giving Jack benadryl every day when he goes down for his nap and then again at bedtime. It seems to keep the hives at bay, but the poor guy is getting them over his face and it makes me soooo sad! I hate seeing them. I hope they go away soon!!!

Single parent!

Well, Vic just returned home from his first week in Provo. If you haven't heard, Vic was asked to go and work at a studio in Provo, Wahoo Studios. He is doing some contract work until he goes back to EA in January. He is really loving it down there. He drives down on Monday morning and returns on Wednesday night, then works from home Thurs and Fri and has the weekends off. I feel like I am a single parent, and I totally appreciate how much work it takes not having someone to help out. Normally, I pretty much do everything on my own when it comes to Jack, but even just the little help I get from Vic when he is home from work is something that I have come to rely on. So when he wasn't here, and I had to do everything on my own -it is exhausting!
Vic's hotel has a nice pool area, so we are thinking that I should bring Jack down a few times during the duration of the contract so Jack can swim around. Haha, little things amuse us! I guess it is just something different from the ordinary and might be fun.

My Mad Scientist

Jack woke up from his nap with this hairdo. I am thinking the mad scientist is very becoming on him. What do you think?

Thanksgiving

I absolutely love this time of year. I love being with family and friends more than anything. I am so grateful for both my and Vic's family. I couldn't have asked for a better support system. If I need anything at all, I know that within 20 minutes I could have help. You just can't get a better family than that. I am grateful for my husband who I love more and more each year. We have been together since I was eighteen and have matured together. We have been through good times and bad, and we just come out stronger and stronger. I am very grateful for my son. To put it simply, I believe he is the reason I exist, to be his mother.

This year for Thanksgiving we went and ate at my mom and dad's. I helped a little with some veggies. We had the amazing lefse, my mom and gma make every year. My dad does the turkey, and it never fails to be awesome. Jack just wanted to eat bread this year, oh and pickles. He has become our little vegetarian lately. No clue why, must be a phase. He use to eat an entire chicken breast a month ago. Whatever. He also ate all my mom's pie off her plate. Seriously, a piece of banana cream and pumpkin. I guess he got his mama's sweet tooth after all! After eating at my parent's we headed over to Vic's parents house. Jack loves his play room over there, and his constant supply of balloons. I don't think he let go of two of the balloons the entire time we were there. He keeps me and his gma running!

Here are a few pictures of Thanksgiving, enjoy!
