SWOOP!

I was bored last night so I decided to take some pictures of our bird. He has such a funny personality and I was hoping to capture some of it on camera.

In this photo he just knocked something off the couch so he is looking at it. It's so funny cause he has to turn his head to the side to look down at something. (Don't you love our ugly couch! It used to be my cousins and we are definitely grateful for the free furniture but it is so ugly!!! That will be our first purchase when we move into a house!)

He likes to get the water out of our cups once we are done with them. Actually sometimes he tries to drink from our cups while we are still drinking!

He loves to play with my hair elastics. He wasn't being cooperative last night but sometimes we can get him to hang on to the elastic while we lift him in the air.

I know you have all seen him showering in pictures before but I thought this one was cool cause you can see little water beads falling off his back.

I know a lot of people are creeped out by birds but I really don't know why. He is a fun pet and he is very entertaining. He is also very loving and he will follow us around wherever we go!

More St. George Photos

Here are a few more photos from our trip to St. George!

We brought Swoop with us on the trip because we didn't want to leave him with a babysitter (or I guess a birdsitter - ha ha)

Our new camera has some funky features on it so we were playing around with those. In this picture everything is black and white, except anything that is blue. That is why Elise's swimsuit stands out.

You can also replace colors with something else. So in this photo the blue in the water is replaced with pink. It looks so weird!

Here are a couple more shots from the Bellagio Conservatory. Such pretty flowers!!

St. George

Here are some photos from our trip to St. George. We had a lot of fun and I'm sad it's over!

Here we are playing in the pool.

Marcus enjoying the sunshine.

Look how stylin' my grandpa is!! What's even funnier is my grandma bought him this outfit! I couldn't stop laughing after I saw him in a Vans T-shirt!

Here's some photos of my cute second cousins! Aren't they adorable?!?

On Monday we went to Las Vegas to walk around and shop. It was even hotter than St. George so we tried to stay inside the whole time.

Eating at the Cheesecake Factory! YUM! I highly recommend the strawberry shortcake; it was SOOOO Good!!!

We walked over to the Bellagio and went into the conservatory. They had such pretty flowers!!

St. George is very pretty but I would never want to live there; it's too hot! It's a great place to visit though!

Sister-In-Law Birthday Gift

I need suggestions on what to get my sister-in-law for her birthday. I don't know if I dare get her clothes because that is always so hard to find for other people. And I worry she would hate whatever I got her (we have pretty different styles).
She is a mom of two (a three year old and a 4-month old) but I don't want to get her something that she will use on the babies cause I'm sure you moms get tired of receiving gifts that are actually for your children.
Any ideas?

Yes, we are home

We are home from St. George and I will have pictures posted soon. It was a fun and relaxing trip but SOOO hot! We were even sweating at 10:00 at night!
We played tennis and swam at the pool every day. It was a lot of fun and I'm sad to be home. Back to reality and back to being stuck at the mortuary!!!! UGH!

My Cute Grandparents

I have been helping my grandpa put his life history together and I just got some photos to include in the book. I thought they were so cute and funny that I had to share!

Look at my cute grandparents!!!

Here they are in high school. I LOVE my grandma's clothes and most of the stuff she wore would be in style today. Look at my skinny grandpa!!!

Here they are on their wedding day. They met in high school and were only 19 when they got married!!! Now they have been married for 62 years!

The whole family. My dad is the youngest and only boy.

My aunts in their Highland High Pep Club outfits.

My cute dad when he was at Skyline High School in Oakland, CA and his missionary picture.

My parents on their wedding day. I love the blue ruffles!!!

Here's a present day picture of my family (we've had a couple of additions since this photo). I love looking at these old pictures and it makes me want to take lots of photos so my kids will be able to look at them some day!

Funny Story

So I thought I would share a funny story with you. Most of you know my little brother Marcus; for those of you who don't know him he is 14, he is autistic and he LOVES sports. Every morning while he is getting ready for school he watches ESPN. He mostly watches the ticker tape at the bottom of the screen and what's amazing is he can read something once and remember it forever!

On Saturday night we were watching the Stanley Cup finals. At the same time we were quizzing Marcus with questions from "ESPN's All Sports Trivia Game." Marcus loves hockey so we were asking him hockey questions. The question came up "Which hockey franchise became the Phoenix Coyotes?" Two of the options were the "Minnesota Northstars" and the "Winnipeg Jets." Marcus said the answer was Winnipeg but the answer on the trivia card was Minnesota.

Well, Marcus was not happy to hear that we was wrong. He was adamant that the answer was Winnipeg! So we decided to look it up online and sure enough, Marcus was right!!! We all had such a good laugh over this and we think it's so funny that a 14 year old boy found a mistake with ESPN's trivia game!

We gave Marcus the ESPN trivia game for his birthday. We had no idea he would be smarter than the game! :)
