Update

Well time flys when you are having fun!! Arighty! Hold onto your chairs because here is the update of what has happened since the last post in April.

One month (exactly) from when we had our sweet little Bryce, Zane was hospitalized. It was a scary weekend. He had been acting weird from week or two and I couldn't decide if it wsa from having a new baby or something else. One night I was sitting on the floor talking to Brian and listing the symptoms that it seemed like Zane had. He was thirsty all the time, going to the bathroom a lot, weting the bed at night, always hungry, and not acting like himself. As I was naming these things off to Brian it hit me, he had diabetes. So we took Zane to Brian's office first thing in the morning (because of course it was a Saturday) and tested his blood sugar and his urine for sugars. Both tests came back positive. We went straight from the office to the hospital where they admitted him and started working at getting his blood sugars back to normal (they were in the 700s). After a crash course in diabetes care they felt comfortable sending him hime with us. I wasn't so sure I wanted to bring him home yet, but with prayers and blessings, he came home. Brian knew the medical side of diabetes and I knew the diet side so our powers combined and we have been really lucky, and so far haven't had too many scares. The worst is when I get calls from the school secretary or his teacher and they are in tears. He still has his ups and downs but he really is a trooper and handles it very well and is learning how to read his numbers as well.

Shortly after this all hit the fan, we packed up and moved to Burley Idaho where Brian had accepted a job in Rupert. Its only a small commute and he really seems to like it and the others he works with. He is an offical family practice doctor in a small office behind the hospital. He also works in the ER a few days every other month. Its sooo nice not being in school anymore but with that also comes the repayment of many student loans which isn't awesome, but what can you do.

We have been redoing a few things in our house, we put in carpet ( the entire living room was tile) and we put hardwood in the dining room where they had carpet (light colored). We have painted and painted, and have more painting to do but all in good time. The kids started school and have been trying to adjust to a new place, it seems harder on Tyler. I joined a volleyball league and get to get out of the house once a week and have fun. Brian finished his first triathlon and sign up for his second. Life is crazy and flying by lightning fast.

We spent Thansgiving and Christmas in Burley and got to see family from both sides. Its fun being closer to everyone and watching the kids grow with their cousins. I have every hope of posting more pictures soon after this post so come back soon!

Here are a few more pictures!

Bryce Gordon

Bryce Gordon was FINALLY born on March 23, at 6:54am. He weighed 8lbs. 14oz. and was 21 inches long. I took him a week early THANK GOODNESS!! can you imagine how much bigger he would be in a week?!! THings are going well, we just need more sleep. We weighed him yesterday and if our scale is correct he weighs 11lbs which doesn't surprise me, he eats all the time. More later after I can think clearly and get a little more sleep!

Finally an update!

So I am uber behind on this blog but I have been busy. So here is the catch up. We had three birthdays resulting in ages 7, 5, and 3. We had a first day of 2nd grade and first day of kindergarten. We had a great Halloween we were Batman, Luigi, and Nala. Brian tried his hand at pumpkin carving where he announced to our neighbors that we are having a baby boy in March (towards the end) and the kids got help with their pumpkins as well.
We danced with Daddy and tried hard to share grandpa with our cousins. We had great christmas with daddy home and made gingerbread houses with our neighbors!
Mommy was very sick for the first 17 weeks and now gets frequent migraines, so this pregnancy hasn't been fun for her but the baby is very active and we know he is going to be super cute! The name choices that are on (or in some cases off) the table are: Jack (ty's choice), Chewbacca (Zane's choice), baby boots(kate's choice) and Bryce and Sean (our choice).
Oh and we also signed papers to accept a job in Rupert Idaho. Meaning we are moving To the Rupert/Declo area around July. We are hoping this is going to be a great move for us and the kids. We shall see!
So that has been the last few months for us and now my goal is to get back on the ball and get better at keeping this thing updated. I just have to remember to grab my camera and USE IT! I don't know why this is so hard for me to do, but seriously its sad. And since the last few months have been a blur, this is as good as these months are going to be remembered.

The sad news about me and sweets

I know I haven't posted in a while and I should update you on the family but really this is a more serious matter. I have always loved sweets. If given the choice between a piece of fruit or a sweet you can bet your every dollar its going to be the sweets. However, this is sadly no longer the case. As I have gotten older ( and by older I mean out of high school) I can't enjoy my past. I used to be able to eat anything my heart desired and as much as I wanted, and not have to worry if my pants would fit the next day. However these last few years have not been as sweet.
I went to the great effort to lose 20 pounds these last two years and to try to incorporate exersice more often. Now secretly I was hoping this would allow for a few sweets now and then, but no that is not the case. I think I have blood sugar issues that make me feel ill after eating sweets, even fruit at times. This is cruel. If I can't enjoy a candy bar then I should at least be able to enjoy a small bowl of raspberries, right? NOPE!!! My doctor says that I just have to try to cut out as much sugar as possible and be really careful with the fruits. I am not diabetic but I do have a family history. I think this is my body's way of getting back at me for not being nicier in the young years.
So sadly, and to my sweet tooth's dispise, I have to hang up the sweet tooth. My waist should smile and my butt slim down, but my heart will cry as I stare at the candy bars at the checkout line. "sigh" (Life is rough)

May and Maui

We went to Maui!!! It was so fun!! If you ever get the chance to go plan on moving there. I think I would move in a heartbeat. It was gorgeous!!! No kids came (thanks to grandma and grandpa Muir) and we had no real plans to do anything. However we did enjoy snorkeling, sunbathing, and we drove to the Twin Falls on the road to Hana, oh, and lots of sunbathing! It was a blast!

Sunset ceremony at Black Rock in Maui

Brian and I enjoying the sun!

Sunset (my favorite time of day)

These plumeria trees were everywhere and sooo fragrant, it was pleasant.

The oyster from which my rather large pearl which is now hanging around my neck came from.

April

A quiet house had me worried but I found her reading! Boy was I relieved, this kid can make a mess!

Getting our kites ready to fly with our neighbor Coann.

Kite flying on one of the MANY windy days we have had lately.

Zane loves posing with Kate.

Hunting for easter eggs which we did on saturday because we have 8:30 church.

Kate at our neighborhood easter hunt. Brian took the boys and I had the camera so I only got Kate. The boys were on the street over.

Sunday morning in their new Easter grumb!

Well, here we go again! Time flies when you are having fun and crazy busy. Apparently winter is not over and doesn't intend on going anywhere soon. One rare nice day no jacket required is quickly followed but freezing temps and snow. I am about done with spring we can just move on to summer. Zane started T ball this year and each practice has seen snow, rain, hail, and sun in the thirty minutes that they practice. But he loves it and its really cute to see little guys running after the ball and wrestling each other for the opportunity to throw it back. Tyler has started swimming lessons again. I have him in private lessons for awhile. He is at the point of almost being put in the deep end and that scares the crap out of me so I thought a few private lessons to work one on one would be a good idea. He really is a good swimmer he just has a very over cautious mom. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Kate and I just follow the boys around to their various activites and cheer when needed. We have occationally seen Brian here and there. HE spent all of March in SLC doing a pediatric ER rotation and then came home to work the medicine floor which is busy and has long shifts. So on the few rare occation that we are graced with his presence we have a great time.

In about three weeks Brian and I get to go on a very long awaited vacation to the island of Maui. I can't wait to sit on the beach and do nothing. My wonderful mother-in-law is watching my kids and so we get to enjoy each others company kid free. (wierd I know) But I have been watching the temps in Maui and its like 80 degrees I think I can handle that!
