Sprinkles and Strep

I took the kiddos into the doctor today, because strep has been going around and I was pretty sure that Jamers and Brooke had caught it.

The doctor came in and said that both cultures came back positive and then proceeded to check out the kids. James checked out great, she said we caught the strep really early and he should be good as soon as he is not contagious anymore, then she moved on to Brooke.

When she looked in Brooke's ear she said "your tube has fallen out, would you like to see it" and grabs a little tool to remove it. I replayed that in my head to make sure I heard correctly, and told the nurse that Brooke had never had tubes put in her ears. So she pulled the little thing out, and about the same time I realized it was a sprinkle from decorating cookies - Brooke looks at it and very proudly proclaims "I put that in there at Grammy's !" I couldn't help but laugh and the doc was shocked - she said it really look exactly like the tubes they put in the ear except it wasn't hollow.

Bird in the Garage

We came home last week and their was a bird hiding out in our garage. We tried to get it to fly away on its own, but it wouldn't go. Gene had to catch it,which was quite entertaining to watch. :)

Monkey'n Around

On Thanksgiving the kids found Grandma Debbie's Gorrilla. It's bettery operated and moves slowly at first then speeds up, the kids would push the button and then jump up on the couch to hide from it.

James finally got a little braver - but still kept his space.

Sweet Baby Riley

I finally got t go visit Riley in the hospital on Thursday. She was looking so good, and I got to hold her, YAY!! She still has her feeding tube in and then monitors for her heart and blood oxygen level, but she is completely off the ventilator.

She was pretty ticked at me in this picture, because I unwrapped her.

Hopefully I will get to visit her again today.

Brooke's Birthday

Warning: Picture Overload

For Brooke's birthday we went to Build-a-Bear and built Frosty the Hello Kitty. (She had the honors of naming her kitty)
She had a lot of fun and was quite decisive about what she wanted.

After Build-a-Bear we spent some time in the Disney Store and just walking around the mall.

When we were done at the mall we met Grammy and Jamers at Chuck-e-Cheese where Brooke got a Dora from Grammy. She spent more time taking care of Dora than she did on the rides, and when she went on the ride Dora had to go with her.

Halloween

What a wonderfully busy day Halloween was. . .

We went to visit Gene's grandma - and they and a Trick-or-Treat for the kiddos. It was fun to watch Brooke, the first few people I was dragging her to, and then she realized they were giving her candy and she started dragging me. I don't know who had more fun the kids or the residents.

Bolinder Cousins
(L to R Kya, Alex, Jamers, Elise, Parker, Brooke and Kasey)

James couldn't stop watching what was going on around him.

Brooke after she figured out what it meant to Trick-or-treat

I went as the swine flu - and thought this sign was funny considering the circumstances. (Help us protect your loved ones by keeping the flu out)
