Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was great. We had smoked turkey, brisket, homemade mashed potatoes, salad, and pumpkin pie. Ben took off on Wednesday, too, so he got a 5 day weekend. The girls and I were very happy to have that time with him. We also got an offer on our house, for which we are thankful. If all goes well, we'll close the beginning of 2011. We hope that your Thanksgiving was wonderful and full of happy memories!

We're out of here

Just so everyone is clear on this matter, we have indeed resigned from the LDS church. We are no longer members. Letter Response

Cat O Lantern

This Halloween the girls and I decided to attempt the most intricate carving that I've ever done. The Cheshire Cat from Tim Burton's Alice In Wonder land. Yes, I'm crazy. Yes, it was hours upon hours of work. Gutting the thing took 45 min alone. The LARGEST pumpkin I've ever bought (also the most expensive! $8!). Here are the pics: (Please pay no attention to my dirty living room. It was clean earlier.) It took 6.5 hours carving time. Sorry for the bathroom floor pic, but it's the ONLY room in the house that gets that dark (no windows). /shrug

Ah Ha! Fun at Zilker

We had a picnic and play time at Zilker on Monday. I forgot that I took pictures on my phone until I was going through them looking for something else. It was beautiful weather, maybe just over 80 degrees, if that. We had lots of fun! We'll have to do it again soon. October is a good time to usually, since it's not quite so hot. Looking forward to it!

Music maker

A fun little tool to play with! Just thought I'd share. Enjoy, but remember to do the important things, too! First link is what I made, and the second is the tool that you can play with! :D http://inudge.net/#/3hfo and http://inudge.net/

Overworked mother

Jordan turned 9 years old on September 15. We celebrated with gifts and fun, but I didn't manage to think about taking pictures. So there are no pictures to go with this post pertaining to her birthday. She spent the weekend after her birthday with my parents who took all three birthday girls (my niece Layla- Sept 19th, and Brianna- Sept 24th) to celebrate together. They went to Gatti Land, went shopping, and just all around had a blast! I brought cake and ice cream with candles (a nine and a four) on Sunday (the 19th) to help celebrate a little more. I only wrote happy birthday since we were celebrating three (even though it was technically made for Jordan). We sang "Happy Birthday" and had candles blown out three times, so they each had a turn. The following weekend, Brianna had a birthday party at her house to celebrate, so Jordan got to go to that, too! Alex was invited as well. Since Alex and Jada spent the weekend with my parents, so that they wouldn't feel left out, Jordan spent the weekend with Brianna. That left a weekend for Ben and I to take a step back and *Deep breath* relax. It was a very nice time! But I have to admit, I really, really missed my kids. (I went to investigate why they were being so quiet 3 times before I'd remember they weren't even here! Silly me) Since then, we've been doing school and having play dates. Loads of fun! But again, I've not managed to remember to take pictures. /sigh I'm working on it, I promise!

Project house:

Working on scraping and painting outside of our house in Taylor. Got to get it ready to sell. I'll be sure to post a before, during, and after shot when it's finished. I've got to thank Brandon and the missionaries for helping so far. Also, thanks need to go to Andrea, Ron and my mom and dad for watching my kids for me. Thank you to all of you. My sister in law, Dawnica also got married yesterday in Logan, Utah. Congratulations need to go out to her and her new husband, Logan! Congrats! Ben was fortunate enough to attend. He said it went well. Thank you Reina and Tyler for all that you've done! I know Ben was glad to see you and looks forward to talking to you again soon. I'm not all here tonight, so I apologize if I'm rambling or if I don't make much sense. It's been a long week.

Saturday

Saturday is a special day. It's the day we get ready for Sunday! Well, my girls asked if I would curl their hair tonight, so I did. They are really excited to have "special treatment" for their hair tomorrow. They can't wait to show off those curls. I'll try to remember to get a pic of what it looks like for church. For now, here's what they look like for bed:
