Inside house pics

Okay, so things still aren't exactly how I want them. There are still boxes everywhere. But I thought I'd go ahead and take pictures since my house is mostly clean. Here they are:

This is the main hall from the front door. It's what you see when you first walk in. The walls will be a light grey with the inside of the arches staying white. Next we have the entry to Jordan's room which is near the front door to the right of the main hallway.

Her bath is to the right, inside the archway.

Jordan's room is the smallest and she has the largest bed of the kids. This is also doubling as the guest bedroom, if needed. She's very happy with it though. We're trying to figure out what we can do so she will have a little more space. For now, this will have to do.

You've seen my couch in my living room. Well, here's the archways to the main hall and you can see the second hall to Alex's and Jada's bedrooms and bath as well. You can see the paint samples on the wall, too. I don't think you can see the color we're choosing, though.

From the living room, you can enter the butler pantry. This is a side view of the wall with both the butler's and part of the kitchen.

Across from the butler's pantry is the real pantry. Yes, it's a walk in. Yes, I love it!

This is the island part of my kitchen. It's also a bar top on the side next to the dining and family rooms.

This is the best view I could get of my whole kitchen. It's really large, as you can see. I love it, too!

The floorplan we chose calls this a nook. I call it our dining room. Yes, my kids are at the table and trying to hide from my picture taking. I think they're silly, too.

The dining connects to the family room. This is a really large one, in my opinion. I'm not entirely sure what we plan on doing with the space between the back of the couch and the dining area. I'll probably think of something.

This is the main hall, looking back to the front door. Right around the corner of the height chart is the entry to the master bedroom.

There's an archway that you can kind of see, but you can't back up far enough to get a good picture of it.

This is the majority of my room. It's really huge, too. The closet would be the first door on the left once you enter.

I didn't like the tons of boxes in there, so I didn't take a picture of the closet. However, the second door on the left is the master bath. We did the largest bathroom we could.

This is a pic of my sink and part of the garden tub.

Ben's sink and a view of our treadmill.

And from Ben's sink, you can see our huge walk in shower, and toilet closet.

Okay, now back to the second hall, off of the main hallway. You can see a coat closet on the left hand side and a storage closet on the back wall. On the right you can see the girls bathroom door.

Alex's and Jada's bathroom have bright colors in it. Yes, I know those towels hurt the eyes, but look at the next picture of their bathroom so you can see why those colors were picked. They have yellow, purple, pink and teal towels, too.

Very Fishy.

Meanwhile, back out in the second hall, around the corner: You have the laundry room with a door to the garage, Jada's room to the left and Alex's room to the right.

Jada's room, view one.

And view two, of her bed and some of her pillow pets. Yes, her walls will be pink as well. But it'll be a soft pink that isn't quite so bright.

Now, we have Alex's room.

This view is from right in front of the window, obviously. It isn't a huge room, but she's got plenty of space. It's actually the same size as Jada's. It just looks smaller because her bed is bigger.

And last, we have our covered patio. This is off of the family room, the door near one of the bookcases. I know it's not at the front end of the house. I just didn't want Alex's room to be last. Eventually, it will have a glider rocking loveseat out there. For now, we have folding chairs. Ick. I'm working on staining the fence a brown/grey color. It ties in the house colors with the grey of our roof. It's going to look great when I'm done.

And there is the grand tour of my house in photos. Hope you enjoyed it. :oD

The tree is up!

Ben and I have wanted a black tree forever. A lot of people think we're crazy because they think, "black tree? really?" Yes, really.
For the longest time, they didn't have one available. As soon as they did, they didn't have one in a size we wanted. We had a small 4.5 ft tree while moving, because it was just so much easier to pack and move. Also, our kids were younger, so we kept our tree up higher. Now that we have our house, it was finally time to get one! We wanted an 8 ft without the fiber optic lights. Alas, we couldn't find one that didn't look scrawny. So we settled on this 6 ft beauty.
I set it up yesterday and let the kids go to town decorating it this afternoon. The tree, along with 4 stockings (I only have 4 that match these colors. I will get a 5th one up soon, preferably in teal), are the only decorations I have up right now. I don't even have any family pictures or paintings up. I'm trying to wait until the walls are painted.
In other news, we got a sectional couch for our living room and picked out curtains. Yes, they're grey. Yes, we like dark colors. We got lighter carpet, cabinets, counter tops and the like knowing that our furniture and accessories were going to be dark. You can see some of the colors we were sampling for our wall color. We've chosen a really light grey. You can't see it in the picture, though. We've ordered some side tables that we will hopefully get sometime next month.
Oh, and please enjoy yet another picture that Jordan took of Jada. This hasn't been altered at all. She really is getting quite good at capturing moments of her sisters. Jada does NOT hold still for pictures. She refuses to, so the number of pictures that come out so well, is amazing. Such a great talent!
I don't have other pictures of my house to post yet, but I'm working on getting everything set up the way I want it. I will post some when I have them. I promise!

The House of (Laurit)Zen

So this is the front of our house- the finished product. They straightened the tree by the driveway and our front door is the dark brown instead of the tan. We got the garage floor epoxied soon after moving in, too. We're not finished unpacking, but that's mostly because of sickness that has been passed around. I'm still coughing (ick). So no inside pictures yet. But, feel free to enjoy some pictures that Jordan took of her sisters and cousin Brianna. :)

What we've been up to:

We decided it was time to own a house again. This time we built a new one. We started this process in May. The girls and I have spent almost everyday since then out at our chosen location to watch the process and help speed up any corrections that might have needed to take place. This is the last picture we took, and it isn't completely finished yet. I'll post another picture soon of the finished product. This is close, though. We closed on it and got the keys on October 1st. We moved in yesterday and have been busy unpacking. It has been a fun and learning experience for our kids. We're glad to be back in a house!

Photo Dump

I had written out a long post about what we've been up to but managed to delete it all. So instead, at least for now, here's a bunch of photos of all the fun we've had since Alex's birthday. They're out of order and I am not up to fixing it. I'm sorry. There's Alex's birthday, Jada's birthday, and Easter all mixed together. (We also finished school and I'm now starting to pack for our move in August/September. In a nut shell, that's what we've been doing.) Enjoy these pics:
