Alex had a birthday. Shout Hooray!

Alex and her Aunt Reina both had a birthday on March 11. Alex turned 6, and Reina, well she's a married adult, so we won't disclose her age ;). Ben and I worked Tuesday night to bake a cake, decorate the apartment, blow up balloons, make a birthday poster, wrap presents that she didn't know we had bought, and all in all, just get EVERYTHING done in advance. It worked out well, if I do say so myself. Although I was exhausted that morning of her birthday, She woke up and was pleasantly surprised to see everything all decorated and that she had a special poster designating her seat. I unfortunately didn't take pictures of anything except for Alex opening presents and her with her cake (sliced already). =/ I know a little disappointing, but like I said, I was exhausted and wasn't thinking clearly.

Update on house:

We have a garage door, french door on our balcony. Air ducts and electrical are roughed in, too. The house is looking good.

Silly Kids

Kids are so silly. Ben and I were at our computers after our kids bedtime. We hadn't gotten the girls ready for bed yet. Jordan comes in and says "ARRR! I'm a pirate!" (The toilet paper roll is a hook, and the wrapped leg is a peg leg. She's holding a play knife in the other hand.) Alex follows in her rendition of pirate garb. "I'm a girl pirate." Jada comes in after her and she doesn't look any different than normal but she has a toilet paper roll. She puts it to her mouth and says, "Rawk. I'm a parrot." I HAD to get pictures. So without further ado, here are my mateys.

Foundation... framing... siding! Oh, my!

Just a few pics. I'm super busy with teaching, checking on my house, and all my usual chores, that I don't really feel like I have time to blog much. Thought I'd throw these up here though. ;) Yes, we really are that far into the process. Today and tomorrow, they're building a staircase, putting in doors, and next week is inspection time. (Gotta make sure everything is the way it should be.) The walls are pre-built in a factory so they just had to put it together like a large 3D jigsaw puzzle. Some of the beams got busted, but they've been replaced. We might have drywall by the end of this month! Maybe. Post soon!
