Roadtrip to Wisconsin: The Bluffs!

The view from the top of the Bluffs is breathtaking. I think the visitor sign said that you can see 3 states from up there. The haze of sunset was perfect. 

Roadtrip to Wisconsin: Bear Country

After the reptile gardens, Annabelle needed a nap, but we still wanted to see Mt. Rushmore...so, we drove through bear country. It was like a zoo, but we drove through and looked at the animals. There were SO MANY BEARS! They would walk up right by the car! At the end, there was a place to get out and go see the bear cubs. They were so cute climbing the trees and wrestling each other. I could have sat and watched those cubs all day. 

Roadtrip to Wisconsin: Reptile Gardens

We left Wisconsin on a Friday and drove all day to South Dakota. Saturday was spent walking around...we started at the Reptile Gardens on our way to Mt. Rushmore. It was an amazing reptile zoo with awesome animal shows. Everything was hands-on! Coleson especially LOVED the snakes, lizards and crocodiles. My favorite was the 100 year-old tortoise that Buggy kept kissing. It was walking around eating grass, but when you rubbed it's neck, it would lift his head up and look you in the eye. Bug just kept saying "hiiiiii!", stroking it's head and then giving it a kiss. If you are ever in South Dakota, make sure you stop at the Reptile Gardens.

Road Trip to Wisconsin: Mt. Rushmore

I have soooo many photos from our awesome road trip to and from Wisconsin. I'm going to start with the end and work my way through the photos. The last day of our vacation we spent in Rapid City, South Dakota. Our hotel was awesome and had a pool with a water slide. We took may trips down that water slide, but not before visiting Mount Rushmore. It was really cool! We "hiked" down to the base of the mountain, and then took turns taking family photos with other tourists...we got a few decent photos mixed in with alot of terrible ones! Here are a few of the good ones.

After the kids went to bed, the adults played games and taste tested different kinds of rootbeer and cheese!

The double rocking chair that I wished would fit in our car so we could bring it home.
