1·2 days agoYou might want to be mindful where in the UK it’s going, as chocolate might not survive the journey due to the heat!

2·2 days agoThis is it. So many soft drinks have been ruined by replacing the sugar with artificial sweenters. I wish they’d have just made a “zero” edition and kept the more premium sugar original version.
How are you finding it? How did you find out out Lemmy / feddit.uk if you don’t mind me asking? :)
Have you read all the books? I saw a comment that the first book is great but the rest are meh, not sure if that’s true or just that one persons view!

2·2 days agoCould you research local chocolatiers (maybe local to you or or recipient?). They’re usually in that price range.

UK Politics@feddit.uk•Polanski says guillotine re-post was mistake but refuses to apologiseEnglish
4·3 days agoOf course he is, and he’s taking advantage of the situation, which Polanski shouldn’t have given the opportunity for.
Let’s face it, it’s the kind of post that’s kind of funny to post on here, but it’s not something the leader of a political party should be sharing.

UK Politics@feddit.uk•Polanski says guillotine re-post was mistake but refuses to apologiseEnglish
8·3 days agoI respect people that own their mistakes and put their hands up and admit they did something wrong. Saying it was a mistake but then not apologising signals to me that he doesn’t think it was a mistake but was probably pressured into taking it down. Be clear with your messaging, don’t confuse potential voters.

241·4 days agoI’m a millenial but on the very rare occassion that I go to the pub with a group, I hate buying rounds. Not because of cost, but because I’m a slow drinker and everyone is finished by the time I’ve drunk half a pint. Let me just enjoy my own drink at a pace I want to drink it.

United Kingdom@feddit.uk•Blow to NHS as Royal Mail raises prices for bulk users by a thirdEnglish
6·4 days agoWell there’s email / NHS App, where letters get published digitally. If they do anything like my bank where you can opt-out of paper communcations then that would save some £ by not having to send mail to people that don’t want it. There’s obviously going to be a portion of the demographics that would prefer to receive physical mail, but they’ll be declining over time.
There’s also 3rd party companies that will handle mail (pick up, processing) and put it into the RM network at the end for a cheaper price than RM do. Not sure if the NHS are using that already though.
My week was good! Took the day off work mid week and went to the beach with the kids, then took them to a birthday party on Friday, our daughter’s birthday party on Saturday.
Started reading “Dune”, which I’m enjoying so far but it’s kind of challenging as it’s referred to lots of things that aren’t explained yet! I finished reading a book called “Evil in high places” which I picked up randomly in Tesco but ended up really enjoying.
Going to make a curry later and take it to my dad’s, we’ll play some board games with the kids and get the kids to bed back at home and hopefully watch the Hungarian GP.
I bought a new bike through the cycle to work scheme and it should arrive on Wednesday, looking forward to taking it out for a spin! Although it’s just my luck that the weather for the next week is a lot cooler with rain!
That was my reaction initially when I heard about it a few years ago, but it was just a bit of fun, nothing official or serious! They’d made paper mortar boards and had a little story about each child.
At this point they should just have a whitelist, that’s a hell of a list! There’s some users I recognise from my instance who are chill so I can’t imagine how they ended up on this list.

Maybe I’m being dumb but I don’t see the point? Just be disciplined in creating smaller PRs?
