Well the wife dislocated her shoulder and I was permanently banned from the other place for a reason they saw fit to not bother telling me about.
Welcome!
I hope your wife is ok!
They didn’t even tell you why you were banned? I dunno what they’re doing there. My old account got banned for inciting violence, I’d said “the only good nazi is dead nazi” a few times and apparently that was ban worthy. Another account got a warning for “impersonation” it I haven’t got a fucking clue how I got that, as I haven’t done anything remotely close to that.
I also got banned from /r/Redditalternatives because another Lemmy user reported me and another user for giving our honest feedback about Lemmy lol.
TY she’s all strapped up now and on a long road to recovery.
It’s probably a good thing to be banned, as I can regard the place as read-only and not slip up and be subjected to that subtle abuse that keyboard warriors post in reply.
I’m looking forward to this place expanding out very much
Weirdly quiet.
I’m covering for people at work whilst they’re on holiday and now I’m wondering what they do as I haven’t had to do anything for them (que next week being chaos)
Having a nice, relaxed, cooler weekend now…
And you…?
My week was fine cheers mate. My daughter “graduated” from nursery which was very cute! It felt like there was some kind of activity to go in for the kids for every day of the final week which was kind of frustrating, as I’d wait to go all of them but it’s just not logistically possible!
One of my grandkids did that, and I was a bit taken aback that it had been imported from the USA as a thing.
That was my reaction initially when I heard about it a few years ago, but it was just a bit of fun, nothing official or serious! They’d made paper mortar boards and had a little story about each child.
Nice.
It’s those memories that make it all worthwhile when they come home drunk and shout at you becuase you don’t understand… that’ll happen MUCH sooner than you’ll realise 😉
I’ve also had very quiet week at work as so many of our team are on holiday.
My week closed in a great way as we visited friends who have four puppies. The cuteness was off the scale!
Last week of term, it was more dramatic than I cared for. But now that the teachers are on leave I get to do some housekeeping at work. I’m oddly looking forward to it.
The little one’s been doing well recently, we got lots of smiles and cuddles and it melted our hearts and tired little brain. Got a week off coming soon, packed with house chores and test drives!
Thank you for asking and creating the space to share. How was your week?
I’m glad to hear the little one is doing well! How old are they and how many have you got? We’ve got two and they certainly keep us busy!
Thank you for contributing and sharing!
My week was good, kind of hectic with the kids finishing nursery and school though, but now I’m enjoying later starts to the day as there’s no mad rush in the morning’s to get everyone out!
She’s recently 1 and she’s our first. We’re fumbling our way around parenthood and going with the flow seems to be the answer 99% of the time. It’s been quite the journey so far!
Bet the kids are chuffed being done with school/nursery for now though. Summers were the best as a kid. I’m not so sure about them yet as a parent. The little one’s in nursery year round though so we’re not wondering what to keep them busy with yet.
I got to watch my son’s first musical recital. He was on keyboard doing a few background chords of Seven Nation Army, so at least the little twerps were butchering something worth listening to! It was great though, honestly I loved it.
I just wish he hadn’t made us attend his friends’ performance in Wizard of Oz the day prior, it lasted an hour and a half. That was decidedly less worth being late for dinner.
Is it bad to be scrolling on your phone at another kid’s recital?
It’s bad to be at another kid’s recital, so turnabout is fair play IMO
Weekend away: nice, but tiring and away from my home projects (maybe I need to get out more)
Work was brutal, but somehow made it through
Figuring out summer still. Some flowers that were meant to bloom in August already have, and look like they’re at the end of their cycle already, and I stare at their shriveled corpses and wonder about what next month will bring
Long and drawn out yet shorter than I wanted.
