Linux Mac

BackDup is a Duplicity (http://duplicity.nongnu.org/) front-end for MacOS and Linux written in Java.

Duplicity creates bandwidth-efficient backup using the rsync algorithm.

Mac OS users: please install Duplicity via macports (https://www.macports.org/)

Linux users: install Duplicity via your package manager as usual.

Features

Make robust backups thanks to its backend: Duplicity.
It provides a friendly front-end to Duplicity.
It generates some scripts in addition to interact by console.
You can manage different backups profiles, so you can store your backups in different locations.
You can store your backup remotely, eg. a FTP Server.
You can also store in any filesystem recognized by Operating System.
It is possible to make backups in CIFS/AFP shares, Wuala Drive, etc...
It is possible to make periodically backups via crond in Linux or via Launch agent in Mac OS
