I think they should have done the vocals differently. More aggression would do good IMO.
All in all the original is far better than this cover version. This is a bit lukewarm, which is a shame, because I love Heathen.

The energy Dream Theater brought to their cover of To Tame a Land elevated the song in my opinion.
I kinda enjoy Arch Enemy’s Aces High, voiced by their first vocalist.
I think vocals are fine, though even lowering the key it still calls to reach high notes the singer can’t reach. Can’t dig the drum eq though.

They’ve been phoning it in these past few years i think. Only really liked the instrumental from the previous album lol. Their revival album was amazing though, like 15+ years ago.
Evolution of Chaos is really great. This is what comes to my mind when I think of Heathen.
Completely agree! Can’t beat No Sone Unturned, Silent Nothingness, or even Dying Season. Even though some of it was rerecorded older material hehe.
