I like that they’ve got the Wildberries logo on it, like they’re doing some kind of advertising campaign together. I guess they don’t have to worry about getting sued.
What are wildberries? I keep seeing that these warehouses are destroyed but don’t know what is being destroyed
Russian Amazon-like business that distributed military equipment I believe.
They even had a section on the site called “Everything for SVO,” with body armor and other military gear. They removed the section, but all the same stuff is still for sale. I think some of the drone parts were listed under toys or hobbies, but were things like remote releases for bombs and fiber optic modules advertised as being immune to interference by EW.
I don’t like that their version only uses a tiny fire icon in the corner. These warehouses are COMPLETELY destroyed, but they look fine in these pictures.
I much prefer the other bingo card versions where the warehouses that’ve been entirely or mostly destroyed actually look that way. And warehouses that’ve been only partially destroyed get a smaller visual marking over just part of the picture

I think Russia keeps a pretty strict lid on bad news domestically and when the situation gets past the point where they can hide it, people tend come up with explanations that fit what they know. Like when the fuel crisis got bad enough that people outside of the war zone were affected, many regular Russians assumed there was nothing wrong with the supply and someone along the way was just trying to make money. And someone probably was, tbh, even if the crisis is real.

I’m not sure that this is a good idea. Futures markets on things like assassinations have always run the risk of incentivizing people to do things that they shouldn’t, and this is similar.
Ukraine probably has a military plan in place to hit specific targets. You want people to target the targets judged to be optimal. If someone in the Ukrainian military can make money by making such a bet and then targeting the target that they have bet on, there is now an incentive separating their interests from that of the state.
Additionally, depending upon whether the betting information is made public (and whether that information, even if not made public, is properly secured), if someone bets using insider information, it may leak target information ahead of time, which may be detrimental to the Ukrainian state. Russia will have nation-state intelligence agency levels of capability in going after things in the war like strategic air targets.
I don’t think a T-shirt prize is affecting prediction markets.
