Oh no worries, I’ve had them tagged for ages. They’re a known character, and sometimes it’s fun to demonstrate why to any new folks that might be reading. But thank you!
Just a smol with big opinions about AFVs and data science. The onlyfans link is a rickroll.

Awe, thank you! And you should know, given how hard you’re suckin’ on that big ol’ copium hookah to avoid having to admit how transparently wrong you were!
Don’t suck too hard tho, otherwise your lungs will flip inside out through your mouth and you’ll have to live the rest of your life looking like a weird squished fly!
Goodness gracious, I think you dropped the whole middle of that quote! Here, let me help you with that:
you just said something incredibly naive about a field that is over represented on lemmy.
Oh I’m glad I caught that! Otherwise someone might think you were intentionally trying to remove the part where the subject is clearly the presence of an over-represented field on lemmy, and also clearly isn’t saying anything at all about you being on lemmy!
Man, what a mixup.
Losing an argument so hard you have to just assert that you won…
The default sorting is hot - which does not show your comment at the bottom of the list. It’s not a conspiracy, you just said something incredibly naive about a field that is over represented on lemmy.

Technology@lemmy.ml•China's implantable BCI tech helps quadriplegic patients return to work with latency below 50 ms
2·14 hours agoThanks! Unfortunately that’s just the study disclosure, not the paper, though it does confirm that this is a study within the six months after implantation. If we assume the estimates in the disclosure are correct though, they haven’t published yet? Which seems a bit unlikely, but given I haven’t been able to turn up the paper maybe that’s right…?

News@lemmy.world•China fires up world’s biggest superconducting magnet for nuclear fusion project
12·16 hours agothe “artifical sun” is an extremely thin stream of plasma, and only exists for as long as you can keep it from touching anything - as soon as it does it grounds itself out, loses magnetic containment and dissipates harmlessly.
What you see in spiderman is (presumably, I have never seen it) some infinitely expanding ball of plasma that threatens to escape containment and explode the city. In reality, one of the largest unsolved problems in fusion research is how to even introduce additional fuel without instantly collapsing the magnetic field and, once again, letting the plasma dissipate harmlessly.

Technology@lemmy.ml•China's implantable BCI tech helps quadriplegic patients return to work with latency below 50 ms
8·20 hours agoThree patients with high-level quadriplegia have recently gained the ability to smoothly control computer cursors using only their thoughts through implantable BCI technology. After training, one patient surnamed Zhang can now proficiently make phone calls through e-commerce logistics backend. He can communicate with customers, confirm orders, and ensures that goods are delivered on time. Meanwhile, the other two patients, surnamed Li and Zhao, performed backend service work for vending machines, annotating data on items purchased by customers by watching videos.
This is some Torment Nexus shit lmao. The poor fuckers are paralyzed, and now they’ve figured out a way to stick Microsoft Teams directly into their skull? Haven’t they suffered enough? /s
Seriously tho, anyone have the paper? The cool tech here isnt the mouse control - that’s been around since the 90s - but that it’s long-term implantable. I am skeptical that they have solved the implantation issues, that’s a problem still very much in it’s infancy, but it would be cool to hear I’ve just missed it somehow.
please, they copied us. This go around on lemmy is just the director’s cut of Corn Part 2: The Repoppening

2·20 hours agoYeah absolutely, that people have a more positive opinion/reaction towards people they are attracted to is well known. Captain Chuddo here is just regurgitating the rampant bullshit that
[]try to present as an obvious extrapolation from that basic concept, and I didn’t want to dignify their behavior by quibblin’ over the technicalities.

2·22 hours agoSo your position now is that only self aware attractive people don’t vote?
For someone that supposedly doesn’t know anything about the culture, you’re really good at trotting out the Incel talking points.

4·1 day agoSorry, no.
I just think it makes intuitive sense to conclude that individuals who are highly self-absorbed wouldn’t necessarily care about a collective, relatively anonymous civic duty like voting.
That’s very much not the same thing as the claim you actually made, which was:
people who think they’re attractive don’t vote.
And they’re both deeply spurious claims to make. Self absorbed assholes absolutely still vote, their reasons for voting (likely, at least. Voter behavior models aren’t super reliable) just change from social interests to personal ones.

2·1 day ago“Pretty privilege” is the term they use and is what you’re expressing here - that “attractive people” are so vain and favoured by society that they can exist in a bubble where they don’t have to engage with reality. It’s a concept that’s absolutely fundemental to incel culture and is not gendered. The recent “looksmaxxing” trend is one of the more prominent expressions of the concept and is almost entirely masculine.
