The stank face he gave her about halfway through is perfect.
“Talking about Jesus is making people uncomfortable?”
No. YOU are making people uncomfortable. Christianity is not being asked to leave the plane, YOU are. Using blessings to attack people is like using perfume to hide your asshole.
Performative victimhoood.
“truly, she has received her reward”
- Jesus
These types of Christians always immediately jump into some persecution complex once they get some push back. Like it’s a sign of the end timds. Real cult behaviour
HELP HELP IM BEING inconvenienced
Her make-up make me feel unsafe, yikes.
Separation of church and plane, please.
Separation of church and sane for her
Yes, this is exactly what will convince me to follow your religion.
They don’t care. They want to look good to their ingroup. It’s very performative.
Beyond the obvious bad faith (ironically), her sense of entitlement is really incredible. An all-American sense of entitlement.
I think next time I get on a plane I’m going to get up and start a talk about this really weird dream I had a few nights ago. It should only take about an hour or so. What, I can’t do that? People will be annoyed? What about freedom of speech? Hey everyone we can no longer talk anymore to people who are a captive audience and can’t leave to get away from our bullshit.
It wasn’t the message that made people uncomfortable, it was the delusional self-righteous weirdo, who wasn’t going to shut up for the next few hours, preaching at people stuck in a tin can with her. A psycho like her, who thinks death is her big beginning, is capable of anything.
Idk, preaching that you’re going to hell if you don’t accept Jesus isn’t particularly nice to hear
Historically, religious zelots praising God on a plane has not ended well…
All true, but the message itself is also quite uncomfortable, really, I don’t need to hear that in an airplane or on the street, for that matter.
Nah I don’t like the Christian pitch and find it very hard to sit through.
She knows what she’s doing. This is the desired outcome. It’s not about preaching the gospel. It’s about supporting the narrative that Christians are persecuted, even if you have to deliberately generate the appearance of persecution through ridiculous behavior.
The basic door to door proselyting strategy (which has a 0% success rate) to make sure they don’t leave the cult, then…
Yes. It reinforces the idea that the world is corrupt, fallen, that it won’t accept them. That only the cult will accept them. It reinforces the separation of cult and world, and makes cult the only attainable form of community.
Community is the cult’s greatest weapon. Gangs, religions, the manosphere, neo-Nazi… so many groups work by finding the isolated and disempowered, offering them a community that will adopt them (conditionally). Isolated people swallow the conditions readily in order to have a community, even an unhealthy one. Humans are social creatures.
Getting your members to do behaviours you know will see them rejected (like door-knocking) reinforces the indoctrination that only your cult can offer community. Even if they have doubts or discomfort, they won’t leave.
In my wayward youth I was heavily into church and went to a conference where you went to classes about evangelising and apologetics (arguing your beliefs) and then approaching people out in public to talk about Jesus. The success rate is low but it’s not zero.
Some of my strongest convictions against Christianity come from learning they told flat out lies in the apologetics classes and used lots of logical fallicies.
Wooooooow wooooooow
Aren’t there some pretty strict laws about taking control of an airplane like that?
Sky piracy.
She seems to enjoy this, but the fix is very simple: lifetime ban from that particular airline. How many airlines can she continue to fly, then?
I think the fix is easier: test her faith. Toss her out at altitude. Prayer works, right?
Can’t really get the doors open at altitude. Test her faith by kicking her off the plane on the ground, and see if god gets her to her destination on schedule.
Let me guess who she votes for.
