(Peggy would absolutely love it, Bobby is excited by all the free samples, and Hank might be swayed by the end of the episode because of the principled stance on what things “ought to cost”.)

I hope not, I’m pretty convinced that jury duty is a bad idea because average citizens are very easily misled by legal professionals.

I lost a cat that way. It sucked, they seemed confused and scared and in pain. So, you know, fingers crossed.

There’s like fifty layers of context involved but the short version is that we’re currently losing the American Civil War that never properly ended because we didn’t hold the traitors to account. The nation hasn’t been this divided since we had separate drinking fountains for black people. I’d bet that most Americans on this platform did not choose ignorance and pettiness.

If he cancels the elections for a naked coup it will be a lot easier to convince other nations to help us than if he cancels elections in response to violence.

Sounds like the solution is slower night driving, not brighter lights. Blinding the oncoming driver gets stupider the faster you’re going.

Kind of. Lots of false positives and confirmation bias is involved, and it aligns more with anxiety disorders (“hyper-awareness”) than ASD.

It should. Various world governments have been giving us far too much leeway, however.

I’m used to the Pacific Northwest and don’t do real mountaineering so the 2-3km+ summits are beyond me. Even the 10 mile (whoops, switching units) glacier hike I did in Alaska only went up about 2000 feet. I prefer long walks over steep ones.

I was ready to poke fun at the UK because 1km is an unimpressive peak but I see that most the trails start pretty much at sea level so that is one hell of a walk. (And half a million people do it every year!)

That’s also perfectly valid. Personal taste is always a component of art; expert musicians aren’t all jazz fans.
