The US has a military more expensive than all other militaries combined.
Amd it’s getting its ass kicked by Iran using cheap drones and home advantage.
The ideologies that call for ending social programs and buying military hardware instead have an incompetence problem that serves as a detrimental force multiplier.
Seriously. The smart generals that don’t get discharged by authoritarian regimes quit.
Except, maybe Gerd von Rundstedt, because Prussians do not mutiny.
It’s a mistake to look at the US military budget as being for an effective military. It’s purpose is to send money to congressional districts to maintain the power of politicians. It’s just Argentine-style clientelism. Spending money is the whole point of the system, and it does it very well.
“There is no alternative”
Let’s cut corporate welfare first.
But that weakens the economy (cries in corporate)
As if everyone living paycheck to paycheck and with no confort and luxury in their lives doesn’t
Think of the job creators!

Direct stimulus - as in stimulus checks - have been given out by both the left and the right side of politics at various times. Because it boosts consumer spending during economic downturns. Yet you still get these media mouthpieces for the wealthy donor class and corporate welfare jockies who don’t understand that higher wages and the right types of social spending can also boost the economy (earnings their corporations more sales via more spending going on).
This is because they don’t want wages going up, and they want to distract from their own welfare. Governments often go along with their ideas and cut spending - this action doesn’t serve society or the public (quite the opposite), it serves international ratings agencies and international lending organizations.
Many governments in the world prioritize their countries credit rating over the good of the people because quite often when governments aren’t popular enough to get spending bills through senates and parliaments, they can still get just go and borrow money from international lenders and ratings ageny.
It’s an extra governmental way to do spending, and it puts governments in lock step with their corporate philosophies of useless outlets like the financial times/review/advocate/ ect…
The world is infested with cowardly bootlickers.
Look, I know it’s a figure of speech, but why did the brief Tupac quote need a summary, and additionally one that’s longer than the quote itself 😂
