    Grandpa Allen's Visit, 6.20-23.07

Grandpa Allen came to see little Allen and to celebrate Mommy's birthday! We had a lot of fun showing Grandpa all around St. Louis.

    A few professional photos.

Little Allen and Big Allen... actually, two little Allens!

Grandpa loved playing with Allen at the water-park near our home.
It was a nice refuge in the oh-so-humid heat!

Do they get cuter than this?

The St. Louis Zoo! We rode the little train all around the zoo. Both Allen's thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Little Allen's favorite...the penguins!

    And big Allen's favorite...the monkeys!

    Staying hydrated.

It looks like the zoo...but this is in the museum under the arch.

We tried to get a picture of both Allen's wearing old hats but little Allen threw his
off faster than we could snap the picture every time!

A beautiful-clear day to visit the arch!

Unfortunately Bradley was stuck in school so it was just Grandpa, Alanna, and Allen this day.

    More fun-times with Grandpa!

Grandpa treated us all to a fancy dinner at Bacana for Mommy's birthday.

Allen wants to walk everywhere now!

    Chicago ...that toddlin' town! 6.7-10.07

We spent 4 days in Chicago for a seminar and had plenty of time to see the sights with Grandma Bonnie!

    The Sears Tower Observation Deck

    Allen loved the view!

We found out that Daddy is really tall.

And Mommy met Oprah! ...Just Kidding!

We cruised on lake Michigan for an incredible tour of the city. Talk about windy! Both Bradley and Allen's hats flew off! We captured Allen's before it went overboard. Poor Daddy lost his favorite BYU hat.

Grandma helped Allen perfect his walking skills.

    Look at him go!

    Allen's first skinned knees--pool wounds!

    Grandma Bonnie, St. Louis 6.2-6.07

Grandma Bonnie came all the way from Kent, Washington to see Allen.

They played in the fountain at Logan University where Daddy goes to school.

    ...and Allen's natural habitat...the pool.

The St. Louis Arch--Gateway to the West!

At the top...notice the itty-bitty windows. Alanna felt sick and Allen wasn't diggin' it.

    The view!

    Trailer Transformation

This spring we gave our trailer a tropical makeover. Hooray for orange!

Alanna made the curtains, pillows, picture frames, and recovered the ottoman. Yay!

    Nauvoo, IL 5.25-28.07

We played for 3 days in Nauvoo with our best friends, the Hendrickson's, and yet didn't get to see everything this beautiful-historic city has to offer. It is located on the banks of the Mississippi and was built by early Latter -Day Saint pioneers.

The original Nauvoo Temple was destroyed in 1848. This rebuilt Temple, completed in 2002, is an exact replica of the original.

We're just your typical 1800's family--except we smile in photographs.

    ...and kiss!

Allen had a lot of fun spending so much time outdoors.

...and with Daddy out of school.

Allen wanted to chase after Hyrum and Katie so badly. He began walking on his own just a few days later.

Bradley's famous lip-curl move. (insert whistle)
