I think its fine to have opinions on graffiti. My issue is when people get insufferable over it. And honestly, there is usually a lot to unpack there and I say that as someone who has been there done that.

As I said in a different post. Art which yes even the “low skill” stuff is. (I say smugly with my ask me about the Heavnor Runestones shirt) is just a part of what we do. And people don’t have a good outlit. No amount of policing or moralizing is going to stop. So it just makes more sense to accept it as a natural thing we do, study it and figure out how to channel that tendency for the betterment of the community to reduce tagging in places that most would prefer it not being there.

Hell I say this as someone who HATES random ass dick pics everywhere. But here is the thing I know. Most people can generally agree that having random ass dick drawings or tagging in certain places is annoying and can even be harmful. So it makes for a very easy bar to clear with reactionary forces and suddenly you got more money going to the cops.

Its why its so important that we accept this and come at it with clear heads. And who knows, if we do that we might get some awesome stuff for everyone out of it. Though of course I would hope I’m preaching to the choir here.

Humans are artistic people. Especially when it comes to community and show casing it. Through out history people have done everything they can to do art wherever they have been. Including what is now called tagging and graffiti.

Its funny cause we don’t consider it graffiti when its a archeological find from century ago. Some of the things that helped paint a picture of every day life. Did you know there is a viking runestone in Oklahoma? Sure sucks that ancient viking left that and dirty up the place huh?

And you’ll say “but this is different” how? Do you think random viking guy knew his random ass stuff would be consider a archeological gold mine? We never know what will be important like that in the future. Its literally all the same stuff the only difference is the when and how.

Tagging is not something that is going to go away. moralizing it and policing it is not going to work. So its time to re examine it and figure when is it actually a problem and how to channel it in the correct ways.

Oh for sure. But those paradigm are based on things that were mostly develop under capitalism. Everything for the industrial revolution and chemical day and age has mostly been under a frame work of what you are saying. But from a lens that doesn’t really take into account the greater picture. (You can’t grow on land that is uninhabitable and if we are all dead etc)

I think China has the best chance to break through this and figure this out as a whole. That there is a balance to be had between yields and environmental efforts.

Not that I know more then a country of people of course. But agriculture does tend to get behind on things because people in general have a very bad tendencies for not seeing the pollinator through the pest in a manner of speaking. But I think they as a society are set up materially to care about this sort of thing sooner rather then later.

Fuck I wish I could be part of this. They are going to make our agricultural advances look so selfish and pathetic.

I love agriculture, despite the issues or maybe better said because of the issues. Cause there is a lot of unique challenges to face. But of course in the West its all “just make more. No analyze. Just more” and now our insects are gone.

Sometimes I get a little self conscious with how short I am. But honestly it has its own benefits

Its so weird like, we kept getting firming beds thinking it would help my back. But turns out it was my hip radiating to my lower back and whatever joint thing I have is fucking Goldilocks and needs a mix of firm and soft or my circulation is cut off and my hip gets worse.
