Difference being that (European) beavers are native to Europe, and restore wetlands, whereas nutria are invasive and destroy it.
That’s true, that’s true. I actually didn’t know there was a native European beaver, I thought they had been introduced for fur and escaped like nutria had.
Honestly though it’s great to see successful conservation efforts! North America is making some progress with bison and wolves too and I enjoy seeing them return to the land that they evolved to live on.
