I just moved to a place that is a 3.5 minute walk to work. Went from 250 square foot studio with a 45 minute commute to a 3 bedroom house a block away from the office. It’s not all good though. Sometimes there’s traffic on the way home. Meaning I could have to wait up to a minute for a big enough gap between cars to cross the street.

Agreed - both because of the incredible craftsmanship, and because they said Count the Rice several more times.
Same, I watched it once, and then watched it again as a drinking game where I took a little sip of wine every time they said Count the Rice. Good episode of television.
No, they are batman haters and don’t want batman to get the seat.

Science@mander.xyz•People With Aphantasia Can't Visualize Anything. So How Do They Dream?
7·17 days agoI have this condition and when I’m trying to remember where I put something, I try to bring up the memory of when I was setting it down. I may not visually see what it looked like, but I can still recall the state of mind I was in, where I was, what I was thinking at the time. Even if I don’t see what I was seeing, I remember being there and seeing what I saw. It’s just more akin to a text adventure.
Not sure how universal this is, but when I close my eyes while falling asleep. I frequently notice a sort of glowing blue light that radiates outward from the center of my vision. It’s like a pulsing ring of blue that expands outward from the center.
During this time, I can experience a very mild capability to visualize things. Like if I try really hard, I can invent cartoon characters and visualize them as I’m falling asleep.
Then, when I’m actually asleep, I have vivid full color dreams with enough detail to believe it’s real basically all of the time.
You can’t be this deep in the thread and drop a gem like Benjamin Bussin’. I keep checking back and get frustrated that no one else is upvoting.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it reasonable to tell a person you once loved about the fact years later?
7·21 days agoAdditionally, even if there is no reciprocation expected, from their perspective, they will think this is in the hopes of reciprocation. And the more OP tries to convince them it’s not, the less convincing it will be. That kind of contact, regarding feelings from the past, just makes one instantly defensive and apprehensive about the idea that they may soon have to rebuff an advance. Which means finding any excuse to not socialize, respond to texts only minimally, don’t do anything which could feed into the idea that you are getting closer to them which could provoke an advance with underlying expectations and potentially a negative reaction upon rejection. It’s an inherently uncomfortable situation because of that underlying subtext of motive that doesn’t go away with any amount of explanation. There are many routes into so many open hearts out in the world. But this route does not lead to love, platonic or otherwise.
I have one of these that has a tracker in it, so even if my phone dies, I can find both my wallet and my phone.
Also, cannot overstate how selfish you are for not letting them have ANY of the poison under the sink. Would be entirely justified to scream and cry until you learn how to share.
Okay, NOW the egg is cracking.

I think the more pressing concern is they’ve made this same list multiple years in a row now, and from that I can gather they may be losing their grip on the passage of time.
