Cabo

In September, we took a little vacation. We didn't want to leave Payton behind either, we thought it was time to have a family vacation. A beach and a pool were the main things we wanted to find, so Cabo seemed like a perfect fit.

Payton's first time on an airplane. She thought it was so much fun and did great on the plane. She even screamed, "Seatbelts?" to make sure everyone had their seatbelts on. (That's the drill for everytime we get into the van with the girls, so that's what she's used to.)

Here was the incredible view from our room. Pool and beach view. Not too bad.
Literally 15 minutes after arriving at our resort, we were in our bathing suits and taking a dip in the pool. I don't think anything or anyone could have kept Payton from it once she saw where we were.

She thought the beach was pretty dang cool.
No lie, here was our routine each day: wake up and scarf down some breakfast, head to the beach for a couple hours, then to the pool for a couple hours to wash off some of the sand, grab some lunch and have family nap time, next...back to the beach and more of the pool until the sun went down. Rinse the sand off the bathing suits and repeat the next day. Payton was in HEAVEN!!
This was just a huge chess set at the resort that Payton asked to stop at EVERY time we walked by.

There was a trolley that drove back and forth between our resort and a nearby resort. We headed over to the neighbor resort one day to take a glass bottom boat tour over to The Arch and Lover's Beach.
There were vendors all over the beach trying to sell us jewelry and clothes and braids and whatever else. By day two, Payton was really good at saying, "No thank you" everytime someone walked up to us. Except this time. We were waiting for our boat and she got suckered into this bracelet and just wouldn't drop it. She kept telling the man that she had "monies" to buy it. I thought it was pretty cute and talked him down a couple bucks, so the bracelet was ours.

One day we did head into town just to see what there was to see.

And the rest of the pics just speak for themselves. Lots of fun in the sun....

Cutest picture EVER of Craig and Payton....

Twinkle, twinkle

Don't mind the funny hair in this video. We bought some new curlers that are supposed to create some big, cool curls. Unfortunately, I don't have an "after" picture because we had to take them out before her hair was dry. Maybe next time.

3rd Birthday

We planned another backyard pool party for Payton's 3rd birthday. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate. Fortunately, kids are kids and they didn't care and had a great time anyway. The water just came from the sprinklers and the sky.

Good thing we always have some grubbin' food to keep everyone around....rain or shine.
The pinata was quite a hit with the kids. (Get it? A hit?......I'm so funny.)

Payton picked out her own cake this year. She picked this one because it had trees and flip flops on it.
Payton ate 3 cupcakes.....frosting only. Makes me a little sick just looking at the frosting in these pics.
Then it was time for presents. We thought it would be fun for Payton to make a little announcement with one of her presents.
Baby #2 is due Feb 23rd. :-)

4th of July

We had a fabulous long weekend in Idaho for the 4th of July. Jan and her kids were there too and we all had a great time. I love that Payton is getting older and really gets into all these things now. So much fun.

Friday night was fireworks in the driveway.

This is how Payton wanted to watch most of the fountains. She wasn't in love with all the noise.
I decided to get Payton all dolled up in red, white, and blue this year. I'm sure it was much more fun for me than it was for her. She is quite a girly-girl though and loved her wavy hair. She kind of looks like she has cocker spaniel ears. :-)

Even the fingernails and toenails were in on the 4th of July action. She thought this was pretty cool too.
Good times with her cousins.
And a trip to Idaho wouldn't be complete without hanging out with the horses and a ride on the buggy.
