I have a tradition with some of the girls in my neighborhood of going to a haunted house every October. This year we went to a haunted house called Castle of Chaos. We went to the same one last year, but it was quite a bit different this year. It was tons of fun and pretty scary! Afterwards we got appetizers and dessert at Applebee's.

Corn Bellys
Ethan reminded us today that he wanted to ride the "big slides" at Thanksgiving Point. He was referring to their annual Halloween celebration called Cornbelly's. We haven't been in two years and somehow he remembered the big slides he rode when we were there last time. What a memory! So we braved the cold weather and went there today. After about 15 minutes, Austin was so cold (because he absolutely refused to wear the hood on his sweatshirt and because he'd gotten his hands all wet at one of the activities there) that he wouldn't stop crying. So Adam left with Austin and took him to get a snack and warm up in the car, while Ethan and I braved the cold and had lots of fun. Ethan loved the "cow train" and asked to ride it over and over.
Gardner Village
We went to Gardner Village with my friend Mel and her 2 boys earlier in the week. They have cute witches on display all over, so the boys had a lot of fun looking at those. Ethan happily wore his Halloween cowboy costume, but Austin refused to wear his dinosaur costume. When I show him the costume he says, "Scared!" You also might notice in the pictures that Austin suddenly hates getting his picture taken, and will not hold still or look at the camera for a second.

Enjoying the warm weather
After the snow we had over the weekend, we finally have some warm weather again. Today Ethan, Austin, and I went to the park with Jullian and her kids. We went to a really cool park in Pleasant Grove called Children's Discovery Park. The kids had a lot of fun. I hope this warm weather lasts a while longer!
Itty Bitty Football and My Big Boy
Ethan just finished playing Itty Bitty Football at our local rec center. It's just for 3 and 4 year olds: they go to stations with their little teams and learn the basic of football and do little scrimmages.
Austin is getting so big. He will be 2 in les than 4 months! I swear I was just barely pregnant with him. He talks like crazy, and is starting to say 3 word sentences. He copies EVERYTHING we say. He also decided he doesn't like sitting in his high chair anymore. He climbs up into our regular kitchen chairs and eats most of his meals there now. He absolutely loves sitting there and grins the whole time because he thinks he's so big.

Summer is Over
Snow is predicted here in Utah this weekend, so I thought I'd take one last picture of the beautiful flowers in my yard before they die for good. Ethan is very excited at the idea of playing in the snow, but I don't think he realizes it means we won't be spending every day at the playground or riding bikes like we used to. My mother-in-law, Karon, helped me plant my flowers at the beginning of the summer and they've grown like crazy, especially all the orange ones. I had a lot of other colors of flowers, but the orange ones grew so tall that they have overshadowed the others. I guess it's about time to pull up the flowers and plant tulips for next spring.
