I think we're Texans now

After 7 months in Austin, I think we've finally settled in and feel comfortable here. We love Texas (but despise the humidity from time to time) and we are happy here.  I think we'll stay indefinitely.  What a relief not to have an inevitable out-of-state move in our future.  

 We use our balcony all the time and hope to trade it in for a full fledged backyard this year.  

Cross your fingers. 

We love our new friends in Austin and Blythe has pretty much stolen our hearts. 

These two scallawags fight all day long, but sometimes they call a truce and show a little love to each other.  However, at the dinner table tonight they each told me that they don't love the other.  

I'm working on it. 

Jones has been experimenting with my camera (eek!), but has yet to drop it or do anything awful.  He took all of the pictures below.  I think they're good enough to frame. 

The Nikon

Sometimes I am having a moment with the kids when I say to myself, my iPhone photos will not do this justice.  And then I usually neglect to get out my real camera anyway, because it's really hard to get to when it's, you know, right under my bed.  But sometimes I push past my initial laziness and I dig out my good old Nikon.  Here's a few photos from those Nikon moments over the last month.

Our balcony dinner made by Scott (because I was a scary monster wife today so he sent me to my room for a nap).  Unfortunately we enjoyed it without him.  

He's been working lots, lots, lots (as Jones would say).
