Witches Dinner

We love Halloween! We cram alot into the month of October in celebration of this fun time. One event the kids really look forward to is our Witches Dinner, a tradition we started a couple of years ago. Its always held on Monday night for Family night in the middle of October. We all wear witch hats, eat only by candle light, tell made up ghost stories in the dark and have really spooky food. Each year there is a different menu. This year it was Mummy toes, Werewolf hearts, Stuffed Monster Brains with Blood Sauce and Goblin Beer to name a few. Its alot of work to get it ready but worth it.
Mummy toes anyone?

A trip down memory lane

We've been talking about going down to Provo to show the kids BYU for a few years and we finally did it this last Saturday. It was a beautiful warm day. It has been many years since I was on campus, so much has changed, and some things were exactly the same. Some places were like walking back in time....weird. And some I didn't recognize at all. It was so fun to walk around and relive so many memories. The kids loved seeing BYU and all the fun it has to offer like the donut/pastry shop in the Cougareat, the candy counter at the bookstore, the enormous library, being underground in the library and the raquetball courts in the RB. I have such wonderful memories of my short time at BYU...I sure am grateful I had the opportunity to go there.

What's this? We were walking along and came across this huge building where another building that I can't remember the name of used to be. There is a huge courtyard with this pretty fountain now and come to find out it is the Joseph F. Smith building. (I think, I hope I got that right)

Check out this picture that Benton took. I think there might be a photographer in the family! :) He also took the picture of the Y at the beginning of this post. Awesome job!

Legacy Hall? What's that? That's what I was thinking when we came across this new building near the RB and Smith Field House. Its a building entirely devoted to BYU sports memorabilia and such. The kids of course loved this ginormous cougar.

Wee Witches

Its fall break or UEA as its called in Utah and we went over to Gardner Village to hang out with the witches. Its so cute and festive over there, plus it was a super nice day.

McKenna and her BFF Hannah came with us. They are 2 peas in a pod!

This was their favorite witch. Gotta love the sparkly eyes and lips :)

Piano Recital

Benton & McKenna's piano recital /party was great. McKenna just started lessons in September and is doing so well. We are so happy with their progress. Way to go !

1st day of school!

WOW! The summer went by way too fast. Here it is time for school. Benton is in 4th grade and McKenna in 2nd. Now its back to the routine, reading, homework, bedtime. Good Luck...to all of us!

Happy Birthday McKenna!

McKenna wanted a Hannah Montana party for her 7th birthday this year. It was alot of fun. 13 or so girls came and we had a light lunch, painted nails, made body glitter, did tatoos & hair glitter spray and of course had HM cupcakes....so fun!
just a few friends here....

Family party.

California...August 2008

We had been looking forward to going to California for my neice's wedding for a long time and we decided to make it a big fun vacation. We had a great time at the beach, Hollywood, my old stompin' grounds in Southern Cal, Sea World, Legoland and the new Sea Life aquarium. I miss California in so many ways, especially the beach, it was so good to be back home.
Our very first stop was at the Ontario Mills mall to check out the Lego store !
Our next stop on our trip was dinner at my all time favorite Mexican place.... Tito's . We met Laura and her new husband Ben there. I can't say how good it was to finally eat some decent Mexican food :)
Benton wanted a picture with this funny Jack Sparrow look alike on Hollywood Boulevard.

Mary's wedding was absolutely wonderful. She was married in the Los Angeles Temple..."my temple"...the temple I had grown up with, went through before my mission and was married in. It was so neat to be back there. I wouldn't have missed that special day for anything and I'm so glad we were there with her.

My gorgeous neices Kacie and Sarah.

Can't a mom get a nice picture of her kids when they are dressed up? NO!
Sea World.......McKenna and Matthew
For Savannah's 1st birthday, we went to Breakfast with Elmo and Friends at Sea World. That was a fun change from the traditional party. It was so cute and yummy. The kids loved it. Savannah liked the first friend that came around but after that, forget it! She was completely terrified. Happy Birthday sweetie!

We loved the Sesame Street kids area.

"Take heed...." I'm not sure how many times we rode this ride but it was a fun one.

One of our favorite places is Legoland. With 3 (so far) lego fans , it is a must on most of our trips to Cali. The kids love it. Its so cute, clean and kid friendly. Here Savannah is inside a shark's head and lovin' it. :)

Indiana Jones!

Sea Life just opened when we went. After spending 2 days at Sea World, Sea Life seemed a bit small and not quite as exciting. But, being such big lego fans we just had to check it out.
