Sunday Drive to Timpanogos

With the recent additions of the Draper and Oquirrh Mountain temples, we have made a goal to visit all of the 13 Temples in Utah and make a Temple scrapbook. So this Sunday we took a ride down to American Fork to visit the Timpanogos temple. The grounds and Temple are stunning. There is always such a wonderful calm peace that fills the Temple grounds. I am so thankful my kids love to see and visit the Temple.

Silly is as Silly Does

The following are pictures of our rambunctious and very silly 2 year old during the summer. She sures does keep life lively and exciting for us with all her energy. We're tired, but we love her to pieces! Here she made a bunk bed for herself and her baby out of the changing table.
CAUGHT red handed!!! Look what I found when I went looking for an oh-so
quiet little girl. She had unloaded almost the whole china cabinet. Luckily everything
survived her adventure!

Loving her new toddler bed.

Not a great pic, but she is just testing out the trampoline/jumping
capability of her new bed.

First Day of School

(Big sigh.........) another school year is starting and I have to admit this year I just wasn't ready to have the kids go back to school. I love having the kids home with me. Sure they fight and get bored etc, they're kids. We thoroughly enjoy summer and the break from the routine. Don't get me wrong, I like this time of year. New clothes, new backpacks, new shoes, new haircuts, school supplies, new excitement for the new school year. I guess I'm just not ready to begin the whole routine again. I shall forge forward and carry on.... This year brought some new changes too. First of all, Matthew started Kindergarten. He's so ready to venture out on his own to school and have some independence. He's such a good boy, I'm excited for him and what lies ahead for him. He has a fantastic teacher, I'm thrilled he will be in her class. Secondly, isn't a huge deal, but its still a deal nonetheless...McKenna joined the ranks of her fellow family members and had to get glasses. She was excited (thank goodness). I'm afraid she's got the curse from both her parents. Matthew the kindergartner and his beloved puppy Benton a big 5th grader
McKenna 3rd grade...check out the cute new glasses!

I started a new tradition this year and made a gian chocolate chip cookie
to celebrate the 1st day of school.

There's a new 8 year old in the house!

Happy happy birthday to our McKenna. We celebrated her big day at the ward party at Classic Water Park. So nice of the ward to come celebrate with us huh? hee hee. Then we came home and had her ice cream cake/mud pie and presents. Now for the mushy stuff....I can't believe she is already a big time 8 year old. That just can't be, can it? I remember when she was born like it was yesterday. Time goes too quickly, I don't like it. McKenna is becoming so grown up and responsible. She is kind, helpful and talented. She truly is a beautiful girl inside and out. We love you Nanny and can't imagine our family or life without you! Here she is with the mud pie cake she wanted. (We're not huge cake lovers)
She received a gorgeous American Girl black velvet and gold bubble skirt dress.

So did her doll. She freaked when she opened it. Gotta love the matching outfits!

Birthday breakfast with dad at Mimi's Cafe.

Park City Here We Come!

Our trip to Park City was totally spontaneous and last minute. We got what we thought was a good deal through Priceline but by the end of the trip, we were very disappointed with the property. After informing Priceline of the situation, our money was refunded and our trip was practically FREE! Can't get better than that! Overall, we had a great time touring the sites , mostly Olympic, swimming and having fun together. Freezing after eating our carmel apple in the rain!
Watching the aerial ski jumpers was awesome!

We all saw the Olympic Cauldron and torch....ha ha ha!

Some of us even did a bit of skiing.

Checking out the bobsled

Beauty and the Beast

We had a great time at the Beauty and the Beast play at Juan Diego. We went with our friends Colleen and Emily. It was a very well done production. Belle sounded just like the Disney Belle. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon at the theatre and then at Frogurt....yummm! Thanks for a wonderful afternoon girls! Princess McKenna and Princess Emily with Belle and the Prince
The wardrobe was sooooo funny.
