The greatest kids...

Man, I am having the hardest time getting all caught up! I can't believe summer is almost over and I haven't even posted about school ending yet- LAME... Anyway, I know I still have tons of catching up to do but I really had to write about something that happened last week. Throughout the summer every Monday and Tuesday has been family PT day. In the morning we all go to a local lake and walk (well, Shawn runs but the rest of us walk) to get some exercise. Last week I was not able to go one of the days because I had to work. Well, apparently Shawn ran a lap or two and then wanted to walk another lap with the kids. Apparently Baylie was exercising her big personality and didn't want to keep up (she likes to push her boundaries now and then to see what will happen). Shawn got mad and told the kids that whoever didn't keep up would get left behind and have to walk home (it's quite a ways home from there...). Well, Roxy being the little mother hen that she is stayed back with Baylie trying to encourage her to walk faster. Then, when Shawn and Tyler finished (I'm not really sure where Ashlie was at this point), Shawn got in the car to drive it across the street and park at the Safeway just to scare Baylie. Tyler refused to get in the car. He said he would wait and walk home with the girls. Now of course Shawn wasn't really going to leave them to walk home but he wanted to teach them a lesson and they didn't know that he wouldn't really leave them. I was so proud of my kids for sticking together!! I mean, we must be doing something right as parents for them to not want to leave anyone behind. I almost wanted to cry when Shawn was telling me about it! They really truly are the most amazing children and I just love them all so much! They may have their moments when they don't like each other but when push comes to shove I know they will always have each others backs!
