I'm not gonna lie. Things are pretty exciting around here right now.
For starters (and I know I keep saying it but just put up with it, ok? mahalo) Kahau is consistantly coming home happy from school. Everyday I am being handed corrected paperwork with 80%, 90% and 100% written at the top of the page. She is so proud of herself and we are still wicked proud of her. Yesterday Kahau came home with a 90% on a math test. I gave her a big huge hug and told how excited I was. He response? "Mama, pleeeeease stop getting so excited. I am going to have A's and B's all the time because I really like school now."
I am still smiling.
Next up. Braley. This girl is a sponge. Give her something to read and she will come back with it memorized so be ready to hear about it. Honestly this was one of our conversations yesterday.
B: Mama? Can I tell you something about Hawaii?
Me: Yea, sure.
B: Well Hawaii was made the 50th state for America--that's us Mom, we're America-- in 1959 and 1959 was 52 years ago I did the math and when it became a state it became a state on the very best day of the year it was August 21 and August 21 is my birthday so that is why it is the greatest day ever and this year my birthday is on a Sunday and I don't want my birthday to be on a Sunday so I was thinking of talking to someone important about it like maybe the President but not President Obama, President Monson because his birthday is August 21st too and I bet he doesn't want his birthday to be on a Sunday do you have his e-mail address?
**Notice how I didn't use any periods? That's how that girl speaks. A mile a minute.
She really is too cute.
Last, but not least, Ansen. He is a reader! Ansen has figured out the fun of reading and he is hooked. Whenever he gets the chance he wants you to sit with him so her can read his Bob books to you. I am very happy that he has found reading to be fun. Yesterday he was reading the dog his books. He had Ramses tucked in a blanket and had his head resting on a pillow while he read him stories. Rammy was soaking it up. When he was all done Ansen announced "Tomorrow I want to start reading the dictionary!" Then in the same breath he said "Mama, what's a dictionary?"
I think the dictionary out weights him!
Like I said, things are exciting around here.
