i'm leaving my girl, and my hubsand for a little girl time here...



looking forward to no diaper bag,
eating meals in peace,
no in an out of the car and stroller,
quality time with in-laws,
and seeing Wicked and touring the sites!

...but i already miss taylor
this is my first time away for
more than a couple of hours.
Eric is a gem for taking her for 5 days!
i know i will miss them both,
but it will be a fun trip and a nice
getaway before i am a mom of 2!!!

feet

today i took taylor to the doctor to ease
my paranoia about her feet.
we all know she is not walking,
and i find myself thinking of reasons why.

the latest...her feet
her right foot sticks out and
sometimes rolls in,
occasionally she drags it,
and so i think it may be
inhibiting her walking

so we took a trip to the doctor
and of course all is fine,
BUT, i feel better.
the doctor said it is normal
and the way her foot is
can be related to genetics
and because of her hip.

i know i kick out my right foot
(my dad has made fun of me for years)
and my mother in law kicks her feet out
as well...hence the picture below.

we went outside for some fun and i
took these pictures of taylor and "bama"
notice their feet...the right ones
are exactly the same...
i thought that was funny.

...and her delay in walking is
contributed to a lot of things.

mainly...her hip and being in the harness,
small feet+ tall girl,
older, smarter, and in control,
fear, lack of confidence.

all in all the doctor thinks she
will be walking before baby boy comes.
i am banking on this,
i can't take the carrying,
scuffed up shoes,
and the scraped up, raw, red,
sore knees and feet.
PLUS...the girl would have
a whole new world if she would just
WALK!

this last weekend my mom, taylor and I flew to vegas for my sister's baby shower. We spent a couple extra days while we were there and had ourselves a good time. I was afraid I was going to overheat, but the weather was nice and the evenings made for a great park nights.

this little girl...



is 2o months today!



like they say, time really has gone by fast. everyday i look at her and think, where did my little girl go. she is still a little girl, but she acts like such a big girl. i can't believe some of the things she does and says and how fast she catches on to things. she still feels like my little tay...maybe because she isn't walking, i feel like there is a little baby left in her. i enjoy seeing what she will learn each day and i love spending all my time with her, even on those exhausting, clingy, whining days.

here are 20 things about taylor:

and get taylor to walk.
it is going to be such a new experience...

mother's day

Even though I am a mother, I don't feel like the day is celebrated for me. I still feel I am celebrating if for my mom, eric's mom, and all those mothers in my life. I did however enjoy mother's day myself. Eric started early and got me this...

{from here} i love it and can't wait to add the 3rd initial for baby boy.

We had a relaxing weekend and taylor and I spent some good times outside.

She is walking all the time with her walker and holding one hand. We try to get her to do more, but all she does is yell "no,no, no" over and over. The girl is too smart now and knows better. I guess we just have to give her more time. Wait, there is not much time left. She has 1 1/2 months to figure this out!:)

For the actual mother's day we went to church, Taylor went to nursery and had a great time.
We then celebrated with Eric's family early in the day. Then went down to SLC to celebrate with my family. It was a busy day and lots of food. Taylor had a blast with my cousin's kids, Seth and Savannah. It was nice to have her distracted and interacting with the other kids.

yesterday, taylor decided she wanted to pick out what to wear.
i didn't think she even noticed the clothes, but has been
very excited about "desses" {dresses}
when we get ready for church she gets so happy about
putting on a dress and yesterday, that is what she wanted.
i didn't think she was serious and tried to put something else on
and she got mad! it is frustrating because she can't really crawl in a dress,
so i wanted to talk her out of it. luckily i talked her out of wearing one of
her nice dresses and instead put her in a play dress.

she was so excited and talked it about all morning,

it made crawling a little difficult, but she figured it out enough.
i think she might have the dress syndrome from me.
i always wore dresses and that is all i wanted to wear...
still to this day, i love skirts! {my choice for maternity wear}
even hiked The Great Wall of China in a skirt!
