Daddy will not approve.
Sam LOVES his baby
These two seem to have a special friendship already. Sam is very sweet and gentle with "ba-by" (with high voice inflection on the "ba") --as gentle as a two-year old can possibly be. Owen is very content when Sam's around. I'm glad they get along, because within the next couple of weeks, they'll be roommates (hopefully Sam sleeps better through Owen's grunting than Mom & Daddy do).

Sweet little tiny baby ...
What a tiny little thing! Sam looks enormous next to him (a reminder to us that little preemie babies don't stay small forever). Owen is so sweet and fun. The kids love him, and mama likes to hold him a lot too! (Usually in my attempt to rock him to sleep, he gets me to sleep.) He's so cozy and cuddly!
Maintaining a sense of humor ...
The kids are all adjusting very well to having a new little brother. I am particularly impressed with Sam, who is not quite 2. He's been extremely cheerful (probably 'cause Mom's not back and forth from the hospital anymore) and has relatively few temper tantrums.
Nathan wins the prize for keeping things funny. One night while we were at the hospital with Owen, Brent's parents were at our home putting the kids to bed. When Brent and I returned home they said, "Just so you know, we had nothing to do with what Nathan is wearing to bed." First thing in the morning, Nathan came downstairs, jumped around the corner with a huge smile, and showed off the lovely pink pajamas he'd been wearing all night. It was quite funny, and it was even funnier to see how proud of himself Nathan was having come up with such a great joke. He's tried to pull the joke off again, but we've created a no-pink-pajamas-on -our-boys rule since then (with the exception of The Three Little Pigs home video we created a couple weeks back).

Don't forget to take your genealogically important photos ...
Here are our FOUR children (hey, that sounds like a lot) and their Great-Grandpa & Great-Grandma Greenhalgh. Brent and I feel very blessed to have as many of our grandparents still living as we do. However, with my Grandma Hardman's somewhat unexpected passing last fall, I am reminded that we need to capture and enjoy our memories with our grandparents while we do have them. Now that we have a new little guy in our family, taking photos of ALL of my kids with their great-grandparents is a priority. Hopefully they all stick around for a long time, but we're sure these photos will be important to little Owen and our other kids someday when our grandparents have gone on.
