Crafting

You can't go visit my Mother In-Law without doing SOMETHING crafty! She's the craft wonder-woman! You should see her office. You'd think it was a scrap book store! I LOVE it! So, I decided to bring a few vinyl things. We had lots of fun!
I'm ALWAYS up for a craft day.

AND, look who decided to take part of the craft day festivities! Yes, my very own husband! He liked it too! But don't tell him I told you that part.

The finished products! It was SO much fun!

Kentucky at it's finest

On Friday, Gary and I (along with some of his friends from High-School) decided to hit the High School football game. OK, I am SO mad I didn't take a picture, but remember this is Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Population of, maybe 30,000 people? Not THAT small, but certainly NOT big. This stadium was HUGE! I went to Provo High a 4A school. Christian County HS is a 5A and the stadium was probably better than some universities and HUGE! None of those fold up, tow onto the field metal bleachers like what my High School had. We're talking, cement, like BYU!! I couldn't believe it. Maybe one thing that was not quite up to par were the Cheerleaders. Gary asked me not to say anything on my blog about the Cheerleaders, so I'll say nothing and just post a picture.
After the game, Steve and Gary and I hit Ferrells. OK, so it's this OLD burger joint that has these older ladies cooking up burgers and microwaving chili. It's open 24 hours a day and EVERYONE in Hop-town LOVES it. I don't know what the big deal was. It wasn't BAD or anything, but I'm now 1200 miles away and looking at these pictures does not stir inside myself any cravings whatsoever for this food. Now, In N' Out...that's another story! No, all kidding aside, I guess this is a pretty popular place for the Hopkinville-ites. It was fun to experience it...and smell like it for the rest of the night! :)

More Thanksgiving...

I'm pretty sure we win the prize for the furthest DRIVE for Thanksgiving! 1200 miles, give or take a few...(I actually think it's 'give' a few). Gary and I drove to Kentucky. It took us 24 hours to get there and 24 hours to get home. That would be about a 18.5 drive with about 5 hours of sleep and a few fill-ups. As long as that drive was, the trip was WELL worth it! Thursday morning bright and early (like 7:30 AM) guys started showing up on the Fears front yard to play football.Yes, that's the FRONT yard! Oh how would it be to have some grass! While they played, Gary's mom and I worked on the dinner...It was fabulous and well worth the work! This is licking the plate after inhaling some of Peggy's Chocolate Roll. Divine!Chilaxin after the dinner. I'm pretty sure I ate my weight in food. Literally!I should have taken more pictures of family. This is Gary's NEPHEW! I still get a crack out of the fact that Gary has nephews that are basically his same age! I guess that's what you get when you're the youngest of ten kids, right?Look at these cute girls! The baby is a "great-grandchild" in the Fears home. Another CRAZY thought! And the older one isn't actually a Fears. Her Dad, Steve (in the "weed-ball" pictures up top) was one of Gary's really really good friends in High School! It was fun to finally meet him and his family. I'd heard so many stories about Steve. Hopefully we'll stay in better touch now!

Thanksgiving...

I love the holiday SO much that I waited as long as I could to post something about it jsut so that the 'holiday' lasted longer! :) (or that's a big fat lie and I'm just majorly NOT blogging very good lately)So, we dediced to have a 'pre-thanksgiving' Thanksgiving Dinner with our friends. It was lots of fun! And this is about all the pictures I took. Ok, I took a few more, but they were turned and I'm too lazy right now to go back to them and rotate them. So, this is what you get. PROOF. It was really fun and REALLYyummy!
So, this little kid, Andrew was crying...but as soon as I put my camera in his face to take his picture, he stopped crying and smiled for the shot, and then started his crying again. It was SO funny!

Where were we?

Hey, remember that time when I actually WON Monopoly? We should play again eh?!Gary and I have two friends who like to play Monopoly with us and they both have kids. We haven't figured out how we can get all six of us together AND allow for kids to sleep just yet but we're working on it! In fact, during this game Angela and I discussed that one. So, Jacksons...get ready to rumble!!!

How fun is this?

When you live so far away from anyone related, it's super fun to take ANY opportunity to see some of the same blood! So, when my sister told me her team was going to have a one hour lay-over at the Albuquerque Airport while on their way to play a soccer game in Louisiana...you better believe I planned that one in my day! Gary and I even bought her lunch! It was SO fun to see her! Hopefully next time she'll stay a little longer!...and maybe next time YOU fly throught Albuquerque, you might think about giving me a call! - I guess I should mention here that the first thing she said to me after she got off the plane was "Man, Albuquerque is a big brown city with a majorly muddy river running through it." Should I be insulted?

Here they are working hard! This was serious stuff! This was so much fun! Fun mostly to all get together for a fun night of chatting, eating, and playing...er...craftingLook how YUMMY! I honestly think I ate half of everything there!Look how CUTE!! I can't wait for our next one!!

Utah Continued

In addition to watching the Cougars play, one reason I was really excited to visit Utah was to see THIS new beauty. She makes the THIRD grandchild (all girls) on my side of the family. We're just starting out, Gary's got almost 30 on his side! Let it be known that Gary actually held Brynlee FIRST, she doesn't look too happy and relaxed in those pictures does she?? Hmmm, did you see the picture of ME holding her SECOND? She told me I was her favorite aunt!

This is the crazy big sister, it was fun to see her too! I didn't take a picture of it, but she and Stephanie colored a cute sign and taped it to the outside of my Parent's door "Welcome Gary and Tara!" She also got to stay up late at my parent's house until we got there and when we walked in the door, I'm pretty sure Haley about wet her pants because she was so excited to see me, er, US!

Where do I begin?

OK, I've been a very very bad blogger. I'm so sorry! So, Gary and I made a VERY VERY quick trip up to Utah three weeks ago for a BYU Football Game. The man HAD to hit a live game at least once this season! It was just killing him to watch these games on TV at home and not be there.

We had legacy seats so yes, we enjoyed a fabulous lunch before the game...
And yes, a CHOCOLATE fountain that I could not get enough of, during half time L.O.V.E chocolate fountain! (and apparently Gary couldn't get enough pictures of me by the chocolate fountain as well)

GO COUGARS!!!
I don't know, for some reason we thought we needed pictures of us cheering during the fight song.
