12-15-18: Santa pics 2018

We finally went to see Santa to tell him what we wanted for Christmas!
This year Luke is asking for a laptop and Adam is asking for a drum set!
That's quite a list for Santa, do you think he'll be able to fit those in his sack?
Let's hope the boys are good enough that Santa brings their wishes!
Can you believe how big these two are?

Here's our Christmas card this year!

11-15-18: SCHOOL pics!

Why so serious?
Mr. Cool 4th grader.
Luke totally wanted a retake.
I told him he just needs to smile and not worry about his teeth.
He's kinda self-conscious about it.
But they aren't that bad, and they will get better.

So he smiled.
And he looks SO GREAT!!

11-13-18: Jen is 42! Happy Birthday to me!

It's my birthday today!
I can't believe I'm 42.
Well I can, because I've thought that I was 42 most of this year.
But still 42 is old!
Where did my youth go?
Luke told me that I'm halfway thru my life.
That was kinda a bummer.
Does that mean it's all downhill from here?
Or uphill?
Smooth sailing would be most preferred!
Whether I'm 42 or 70, I need to be healthy and feel young
so I can keep up with my littles.
I'm about 10 year behind everyone else around these parts,
so health has turned into something really important to me.
I may not exercise as much as I should.
But I spent a heck a lot of money on vitamins
and drinking lotsa water and counting calories.
Plus I take ballet and tap.
And I know that counts!
Gotta stay fit and feel good.
So yeah, I'm 42!
And it was pretty much  just a normal day like most days.
With a few exceptions 😉😉😉
The little boys and I went to Mountain Donuts for breakfast!
They LOVE Mtn Donuts, and as fattening as they are, I love them too!
It was funny because as we were ordering, Papa walked in the door!
He saw us pull up and bought the boys donuts.
My donut(s) were for work...I decided we'd do this instead of cake this year.

Luke's donut looked amazing!

Adam put Gummi bears on his...of course!

Me and my lovies after donuts.
Today the didn't mind being 45 minutes late for school!

At lunch, we got take-out from Cafe Rio!
I ate SO much that I was pretty much sick the rest of the day.
NOTE...I did NOT count my calories!
But I skipped dinner to make up for it!
(Photo above - me and Todd pigging out with sweet pork tostadas!)

Michael and Dad showed up after...

That evening was super relaxed.
I was a total bum and didn't even cook dinner for my kiddos.
I totally took advantage of being the birthday girl.
Josh got off early and surprised me with inviting my close friends over for ice cream!
Of course I made him tell me a few hours before,
I love surprises, but not surprises surprises.
If that makes any sense.
It was SO sweet of him to do that for me!
And I can't believe I didn't get a photo of him and me on my birthday!
I'll make it up to him and take a pic of us on our date night this Friday
(Sounds good babe?)
I feel bad, because he did so much to make me feel special!
He had gone shopping with Luke and they gave me the Incredibles 2 DVD, some super comfy
cord pants, shoes, headphones and a GC to Downeast! WOot!
Adam gave me his book of Pokemon cards, his favorite shiny rocks that he would trade with Luke,
a wooden heart he colored with his name on it, and a doterra notepad from last year's convention.
So sweet!
Kids are the funnest!
Luke REALLY wanted to buy me Avengers: Infinity War...but Josh talked him out of it.
Any ideas WHY Luke wanted to get that movie for me so bad?
He pretty much wanted to watch it again.
LOL

OK! So the photo above is Katy Ostorga and me.

And here is the rest of the big girls birthday party!
(L-R: Bry Collard, Emily King Fox, ME, Joann Davis and Joann's baby girl Camille - isn't she cute?)
OH!
And I did get a photo of my honey who did this all for me!
Josh's reflection is on the window. :)
Thanks again honey for making me feel so special!
I love you!
And I love the beautiful cards you always pick out for me!

Thanks to my parents and siblings who reached out to me,
And all of the facebook world for all the birthday posts.
Also to those random friends who donated to Operation Underground Railroad
for my birthday.  That was seriously awesome (including you mom!!)
We raised $122 for O.U.R.!
Just because it was my birthday :)
I am ONE LUCKY GIRL!

10-31-18: Halloween 2018

Happy Halloween!!!!!
We're carving pumpkins!

This year marks the 1st year that Mr. Adam pretty much carved
the pumpkin ALL BY HIMSELF!

Trick or treating at Grandpa Nelson's is a must!
Also we always stop at Nana's!
But I guess I didn't get a photo this year! :(((!!!
They went around Nana and Papa's neighborhood, because there are a few
neighbors that hand out FULL SIZE CANDYBARS.
I brought my bowl of candy and the trick or treaters got candy from both my mom and me
when they knocked on the door.
LOL

This costume was honestly the best idea ever.
Why?
Because it was so hard for them to walk they didn't get much candy.
LOL
Luke was super mad about it.
But hey, he picked out the costume.
Not me!

I didn't have the heart to tell this T-Rex that our new neighbor Cynthia wasn't planning on
handing out candy.
It was just so darn cute watching him!

10-27-18: Neighborhood Halloween Party!

Tonight is our Neighborhood Halloween Party!
We invited over 90 people!
We are ready to party!
I made 5 servings of chili!
We had some games, 2 fire pits, and costumes of
JURASSIC WORLD!
Can you tell?  Josh and I are Claire and Owen
and of course, these are our dinosaurs, Raptor Blue
and a T-Rex.
My wig didn't work out so well.
But it was fun!

We had a pretty good turnout.
Probably about 30 people came!
I had hoped more would come, especially the neighbors.
Because I invited the whole street,
then a bunch of families that are friends.
It turned out good I think!
Plus we had a warm fire pit to sit and visit by until late!

10-26-18: FIRE PIT

I can't believe it.
I am feeling so blessed right now!
Heavenly Father answered my prayers
and we have a fire pit for our big neighborhood party tomorrow night.
We started this project over 6 months ago.
And it turned into this ridiculously big overwhelming, we don't know what we're doing,
this is costing way too much money project.
Have you ever heard of projects that work like that?
Not to mention, after all the work we had done,
when it came to hire someone to connect the gas to our house
it was WAY TOO EXPENSIVE.
One guy told me it couldn't be done, and wanted to charge me like $2000!
I had 4 bids.
And most of them couldn't even get it done when I wanted it.
I prayed to Heavenly Father yesterday that I was working
so hard to have a neighborhood party to get to know our
neighbors and be a missionary to them, and if it was his will if he could
help find a way for me to get it connected.
So today, I had a thought to call my brother Michael.
He's been really hard to get a hold of lately.
He was supposed to help me with digging the trench for the pipe a month earlier,
and he never showed up.
But I thought to just text his girlfriend,
and he just happened to have the day off and could help me today.
Then he showed up and did it.
Come to find out, that Heavenly Father also answered his prayers.
Because he felt bad that he didn't help me earlier
and the Lord provided a way for him to be able to help us at the end.
I am honestly so happy and so grateful!
I'm also so proud of Josh and myself for building this firepit.
We had to learned to mortar with bricks, flagstone and cementing.
Plus a whole bunch more.
Not that I'm an expert or would ever want to do it again!
It was a LOT of work!

We are ready for our party tomorrow!!

10-25-18: Adam's 1st grade field trip

FIRE STATION FIELD TRIP
for these cute 1st graders!
This is Adam's class!
His teach is Mrs. Harper.
I LOVE her!!
Adam says that she is strict, and I'm glad.
He needs that structure in his life.
She is so nice and great to work with.
She's very patient with Adam and tells me how smart he is.
Oh and he knows it.
He'll tell you he's pretty much the smartest kid in the class.
That's probably true, with lots of sass!
My S.A.S.
LOL

This is Treska, my friends little girl.  She just started at GFA 3 days ago.
So I had to take this photo and send it to her mom.
Treska and Adam are not in the same class, so maybe they will get to know
each other better next year.

We were invited to bring blankets and treats to donate to the fire station.
I don't know where I got this wrong, but we donated a whole bunch
of stuff animals.
I'm the biggest doofus.
Then of course, there was 1 bear that Adam decided that he couldn't part with.

There were 4 FOUR 1st grade classes
running and exploring thru the fire department.
It was a little bit crazy..

This is Gabby, who carpooled with us to the station.
He and Adam are good friends...sometimes.
LOL
I hear the daily update each day from Adam when he comes home.
Today Gabby is my friend.
Or today Gabby said she's not my friend.
It's all very confusing.

Gabby and Adam have been friends since daycare/preschool and Bravo Academy.
It was fun for Adam to know someone at school :)

He signed up for the after school program - track meet.

10-23-18: Strawberry Shortcake bike!

He's riding my bike from when I was a little girl!!
It fits him perfectly!!
It's kinda busted and the chain fell off.
But look at him brought back happy memories of riding that bike and that banana seat!
