11-07-20: Danny's obituary
Daniel Haslam Summers
Obituary
Daniel Haslam Summers, 40, passed away suddenly November 4, 2020 in Ogden, Utah. He was born February 2, 1980 to Stephen and Claudia Summers in Salt Lake City, Utah. Daniel attended Brighton High School. He married Camie Losee November 5, 2013 in Provo, Utah.
Danny’s early years were spent in Cottonwood Heights where he attended Bella Vista Elementary, Butler Middle, and Brighton High School. Danny was a loving soul and had the bluest eyes and the greatest smile which meant he was up to something mischievous.
Danny was married to Camie Losee and together had a son Finnegan. Danny loved being a father to Finn. Finn was Danny’s entire world.
Danny was handed a hard life and struggled. Danny’s light burned brighter and hotter than most people and unfortunately faster than we hoped.
Danny will be missed and Never Forgotten. We love you Bubs and we take solace that you are at peace reunited with Mom, Dad and Jon.
Danny is survived by his wife Camie; his son Finnegan; brother Brad (Susie) Summers, sister Lisa (Dave) Waits; and brother Josh (Jennifer) Summers.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents Stephen and Claudia Summers and brother John Summers.

11-05-20: Yummy recipe
Note: Didn't use the water chesnuts or the red peppers. Plus instead of pepper flakes I used 1/8 heaping teaspoon of cayenne pepper. It did the job! Everyone loved it.

11-04-20: A post
I'm trying. I'm really trying to post.
October was for the most part calm. I started therapy & got my meds upped. I'm feeling so much better. Things felt a little harry for a little while. Constant craziness in my life drove my anxiety over the top and my depression spiked. I'm posting this to tell you it's okay it get help. It's okay to get help. It's okay if you can't do it by yourself. I got to the point I couldn't even make 1 little decision (like outfits for photos) with out crying or shutting down. Mental health is just as important as physical health.
I'm feeling like I can do stuff. I put up Halloween decorations and even bought a few more. We had fun putting our costumes together. I actually was making dinner (instead of avoiding it until I HAD to cook it).
In October I did finally figure out why my heart pounds after I eat sugary or carbohydrate heavy foods. My lovely Dr told me it was all anxiety. Nope. Not all. My blood sugar and blood pressure is higher than it should be. I'm pre-diabetic. So I need to watch what I eat AND EXERCISE MORE.
Exercise is always a thorn in my side. Now with COVID restrictions, ballet and tap is cancelled. I'm not comfortable going to water aerobics so I go on walks. Now it's getting cold, that will probably stop and I'll have to make myself exercise at home. I did do ballet last night in my kitchen. It felt really good, except the ankle. The right ankle hates it. Hopefully that will improve with time and healing.
Voting was yesterday. Josh is super anxious about it. We both really don't like Trump at all. He's a bully and a jerk. At least Biden has class. Fingers crossed Biden wins (but he might not. It's super close right now).
It's only November 4th, but the weather has been absolutely amazing. I'm thanking the Lord 100% for that! I don't remember a November this nice ever!
Work has been sucky for a while now. It's getting better (meds help with less crying meltdowns at work for sure!). I've lost trust in certain individuals here and I do not share any personal info with them anymore. I have learned that they really aren't my friends. Hopefully I can go to school, get my degree and get outta here forever. One can can dream right? I've been wanting that for way too many years now. I literally feel that after being her for 15+ years I have to prove myself again. And if this person is going to be the future owner, he might get rid of me. I really don't like him. He's naive and inexperienced and yet bossy and a know it all. I really don't like him, and I don't want to work with him for the next 20 years. I really really don't. But right now I will stay where I'm at and know that God is in everything. He knows my desires, my hopes my dreams. I tell him all the time, and he has already shown me that timing is everything. So I'm waiting.
I also want to tell my kids that trauma is real. And triggers can hit at any time. You can't always avoid them. But there are things you can do when you are hurting. I had one of those experiences the other night. I've had them most of my life. But I am learning about it and trying to heal and cope from them. I'm not sure I can heal, but I know I can cope. Even when you think you're a crazy person (which I think I am all the time) when you talk about it it really really helps. Josh keeps telling me, it's real trauma to me and I'm not a crazy person.
I also found this great advice to help.
The COPE strategy can be used for triggers, intrusive thoughts, or sudden anxiety.
C is for cleansing breath. This is a deep breath in through the nose and exhale out of the mouth with a sigh. This will help initiate the inhibitory, or parasympathetic system, to help calm the nervous system.
O is for observation—scan the environment, make sure there is no imminent danger.
P is for positive self-talk such as, “I am ok, I am safe, I am breathing, this will pass.”
E is for explanation, “This was only a trigger. It will peak and subside … the stress will flow through me like water flows through a hose.”
Continue to do slow deep breathing until the stress reaction subsides.
But the important thing is to talk to someone about it. And I want both Luke and Adam to know that you can always talk to us - your parents about anything. We'll always be there for you and won't ever judge you. We'll always love you and be there for you. It really helped talking to Josh last night.
We love you boys so much. Take care and know that we're always here for you. Life can be challenging and sometimes we need help. YOUR FAMILY WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR YOU!!!
