We are always glad when Grandpa comes!

We are lucky enough to have my dad here. He came on August 30th and will be with us until September 8. It isn't long enough but we will take anything we can get.

Bowling Hero

Kevin and some friends have gone bowling every Monday for the past few weeks. He came home last week just a glow. He had a 210. He thought that was great. And it was. Give him a cheer.

A trip to Hobbs

This week I spent three and 1/2 days in Hobbs, New Mexico. Hobbs is not the most beautiful place in the world but I really had a wonderful time. I was consulting with the Special Education Department in Hobbs. They were a wonderful group of people and I really had a good time for the three days. The interaction was good. The people were great. They had a wonderful couple of restaurants there were we ate. I really enjoyed them. I missed being with Kevin and Carolyn but really enjoyed the experience.

It has been a while

Since our trip to Canada, I have been a little lax on posting anything. So I thought I would bring you up to date on a few happenings.

A week ago Saturday, we went out to celebrate Caden's birthday. He was so cute. A couple of days before that he said to us how excited he was to go birthday shopping with us and he knew what he wanted. We went out to eat at Pei Wei's, which is an excellent Chinese restaurant. We then went to toys are are where he picked out his birthday present from Carolyn and I and also from his great-grandpa Bird. He really did love doing it.

In the evening, we went out with the children to celebrate all of the August birthdays. This included Carolyn, Marika and Mark. We went to a Greek restaurant called Greek Isle. It is one of Carolyn's favorite places and Mark and Marika supported her in the choice. I like the food but don't know that everyone did. But one of the things I loved about the place was that it was nice and quite and you could actually visit with everyone at the table at the same time. Ken and Lisa couldn't come but all the rest of the children in the area did. It was really nice.
