Seriously!

Okay. I know that Kyra doesn't have a lot of hair. I accept that. I know that she is almost 3 and we still can't do piggies in her hair. I accept that. But for goodness sake, when the child is wearing a pink shirt with ruffles, and HOT pink pants, pink shoes, AND has a barrette in her hair, WHY ON EARTH DO PEOPLE KEEP SAYING "What a cute little boy!" Okay I can accept that an older man might now catch the not so subtle hints, but yesterday we were approched by a WOMAN, and were told "What a cute little boy!" And of course I sit there like a goober, and either don't correct them, or I very politely say "Um, no she is a little girl", while inside I'm yelling "Why on earth would I put a little boy in pink clothes and put a bow in his hair! Seriously?"

This is exactly what Kyra was wearing yesterday. And you can't see if but she does have a barrette in her hair!
You know how there is that comedian that tours with Jeff Foxworthy, the "Here's your sign" guy. I'm going to be the "Seriously? Did you just say that? Seriously?" girl. Okay, I'm done venting, and I'm off to make Kyra more hair bows.

The two headed caterpillar!

Kyra went to her second art class on Friday. She absolutely LOVES anything creative! She can sit there for hours. They made egg carton caterpillars this time. Kyra wanted to glue on 4 googly eyes. I tried to explain that caterpillars only have 2 eyes. She justified the idea of 4 googly eyes, with the prospect of the caterpillar having more than one head. I tried to explain that it was just silly for a caterpillar to have 2 heads. The teacher, Mrs. Lily overheard the conversation. She as the teacher, departed her infinite wisdom on the situation. (By the way the teacher speaks about 3 times louder than anyone else around her) "If that child wants to make a two headed caterpillar, then a two headed caterpillar exists!" Kyra, with the realization that she has won this battle quickly replys "I'll get the glue!" So here is her TWO HEADED caterpillar.

Fun in the Sun..and some bumps too.

Today we went to the zoo, and the weather actually wasn't to bad. There was the slightest breeze, so it kept the temperature below 100 degrees (of course we were there at 9 AM). There is another family in our ward that has a little girl about Kyra's age, and another little girl about Kyle's age. So they play together really well. Here is Kyle with his buddy Eli, taking a quick snack break before heading off to the flamingos. Kyra with Bailee.
Now for the bumps aspect of the post. On Monday, we were walking to our car after having lunch. Kyra hit her head on the corner of a pickups tailgate. This picture was taken on Tuesday, so the goose egg is gone, and then you can still see it in the picture from the zoo, today. It swelled to a goose egg that stuck out about 1/2 inch off her head within LITERALLY about 10 seconds. It stinks to be 33 inches, when the common height of a pickups tailgate is the same.
