Ear Piercings....and Lagoon

McKenzie's been asking me for a long time if she could get her ears pierced, but if you know McKenzie very well, you also know she is a little prone to being dramatic when it comes to pain, so once she found out it would hurt, she didn't want them done because she was scared of it hurting. I told her not to worry about it, and that she could get it done whenever she was ready. Out of the blue Saturday morning, she was eating her cereal and asked if we could go get her ears pierced that day! I asked if she was sure, and reminded her it would hurt pretty bad, and she said she knew it would hurt, but she would be brave. It was cute because she asked if it was okay if she cried because she thought she might cry, but only for a minute or so. So, off we went! She did really well! Unfortunately, they only had one worker, so they had to do one ear, then the other one (and not two workers, each doing one ear at the same time). She cried after the first one, but she was brave and held still for the second one and only cried for a minute or so after it was done. We also decided to do Lexie too! Don't ask me why, I have no clue! It was totally spur of the moment. I NEVER thought I would have pierced my kids ears that young, but we did and she looks adorable! She just doesn't like me having to clean them 3-4 times a day! It is going to be a long 6 weeks!

I don't have a good picture of Lexie's, but you get the picture from this shot! It is so cute!

We've been enjoying our Lagoon season passes, and have already gone a bunch! The kids love it. Brayden's favorite ride BY FAR is the bumper cars. He would ride that ride for HOURS if we would let him. McKenzie is surprising us and is a maniac! She LOVES the white roller coaster, tidal wave, the "big people" swings, scrambler, Lady bug drop, the log ride, you get the picture...all of the big people rides! Scott and I are realizing rather quickly that our stomachs just aren't quite what they used to be as we have to take turns taking her on the rides!

My Kindergarten Graduate

I can't believe McKenzie is done with Kindergarten! She is so excited for first grade and to stay all day long at school. My little girl is growing up so fast! She has done so well this year in school! She has had perfect report cards the last 2 terms (and was REALLY close the first 2 terms), she has been student of the week (for the whole school), learned how to read, learned some German (her teacher did some of her studying in Austria and is fluent in German), and many more things. I have had nothing but praise from her teacher. We love her so much and are so proud of her! This morning they did a little graduation program with some of the songs they have learned this year, and some other cute things. It was so fun to watch!

McKenzie and her teacher, Miss Wilkes

A cute little poem thing they did to the word KINDERGARTEN. (She's the one holding the first "E".)
