Just like Dad

It's scary enough the boys look exactly like Scott but they also do things that are 100% him.

Caleb likes to stack things together and keep things orderly.  Just take a look at his french fries from dinner...

Calvin has a foul mouth.  Ok, not really like Scott but we think his pronunciation of 'fox' is really foxing hilarious!  Especially when he lists all of the animals on Noah's ark as 'Oh pig, Oh sheep, Oh fox'.

Lately the boys have been saying some really sweet things.  Caleb will be playing and say 'I need a kiss' and come over to me to kiss me!  Melts my heart!  Calvin likes to say 'Kissy time' and come kiss me or Scott.  They are both saying 'I love you' and learning how to use affection for their advantage.  Calvin hasn't wanted his diaper changed in the morning and often cries.  Caleb usually sits at his head and pats it and kisses him while he cries.

They are also learning how to be mean to each other.  Caleb will yell at Calvin to 'Walk Away' when he doesn't want to share a toy.  It makes Calvin just cry so hard and breaks my heart.  Calvin is really good at telling Caleb 'No No Tee Tee' or taking a toy and running away from him.

Another random update, Caleb has been going potty!  He completely knows how to do it and tells us sometimes he wants to go.  I think they're going to start working with him at school so maybe we'll have a potty trained boy as a Christmas present?  Calvin's only interest in the potty is helping Caleb wipe...

Visitors from Arkansas

Our MaMa and PaPa came to visit us (the boys) at the end of September.  Caleb and Calvin were so excited to see them and have them here to play with them.  We all went to the airport to pick them up as a surprise and the boys couldn't contain their squeals and kicks when they saw them.  Caleb demanded his MaMa's hand the whole car ride back!

The night before they came in we asked the boys who they wanted to pray for.  Normally we get a list of grandparents and Abby (their dog).  But that night Caleb very seriously said 'Donuts' and repeated it to us. So we prayed that MaMa and PaPa would take them to get some yummy donut holes and thanked Jesus for making such a great treat!

Sure enough we went for donuts Saturday morning.  We spent the rest of the day playing at the house and reading books.  A trip to Lupe's for dinner certainly came about for some great fajitas and margaritas!

It was a short trip but we were so thankful Marlin and Janet were able to take time out to come visit us again.  The boys were missing their grandparents after they left.  We can't wait until we see them again at Thanksgiving!

Happy 2nd Birthday

Warning: This is a Pinterest Free Party!
My sweet baby twins turned 2 on Sunday!  I absolutely cannot believe they are already 2.  We had some friends over to celebrate and just have fun with the kids.  The boys loved all of the attention and food they got to eat!  Since they each love different things at different levels I went with an ABC theme so we could incorporate all of their favorites.

Since Caleb isn't into cake or ice cream right now we just did cookies and donut holes.  Their candles were stuck inside the donut holes!  They loved it and smiled so big while everyone sang to them.  Then they counted to 3 and blew out their candles together!

Daddy, Momma, and Pop Dad stained their play set on Saturday so it would look nice a new for the party.  I hope we will never have to do that again!

Dadda and Momma with the Birthday Boys!
They LOVE making silly faces.  Caleb wouldn't take his fingers out of his mouth until we told him to.  Thanks cousin Sami for helping them learn how to make silly faces!

And the party decor.  I gave Scott 1 main job- buy the beer and wine.  I had no idea he would make a menu out of cardboard and set up our wet bar as an actual bar! I loved it and it was perfect for everyone to know what their options were.  My friends helped me make the birthday banner with their fancy cricuts and I made the ABC's sign with good old fashioned stickers.
Notice the cookie Calvin is eating?  They get lots of those with Grandma around...

And what else would you do at a 2 year old party other than slide and splash in water?

I cannot believe my babies are already 2.  This next year will be even more challenging with teaching them more patience, self control, and obedience.  But I know God will continue to mold their spirits into his followers and us as parents who can show unconditional love and grace.  I wouldn't trade these past 2 years for anything else- I love our boys more than any amount (or lack of) party planning can show!
