a few things I love!

How adorable are these car seat covers?!
My sisters-in-law made them for me and they have been the best thing ever for taking the girls out in public! Not only are they super cute, but they keep out creepy strangers who want to touch the babies :) Thanks again Emily & Whitney!

We got this video monitor back in February when it was on sale at Costco. We needed something with two cameras for when the girls are in separate cribs. Extra cameras for video monitors are very spendy, but this one came with the additional camera!
Don't get me started on how much I love Costco.

Anyways, I love this thing so much. We turn the sound off at night because we can hear the girls in their room if we leave our door open, but it allows me to take a peek at what the heck they are doing. Sometimes I just stare at them...and then Joel makes me put it down. Its a little addicting to watch.
You can also push a button and talk through the camera...things like
"quiet down in there!"
or "SHHHH!!!!"
or even "EMSLEY, STOP SUCKING YOUR SISTER'S ELBOW!"
[because yes, that has actually happened...]

Good girls. Keep sleeping like this forever.

mix-ups

I've had a few people ask me how I can tell Summer & Emsley apart and if I ever get them mixed up.
Well believe it or not, I actually don't ever have a problem telling them apart, probably because I'm the mommy. That, and the fact that I'm usually the one who puts them where they are...and they don't go anywhere, so I know who is where.
With the exception of that time that Joel put them in the wrong carseats (Summer has a blue carseat cover and Emsley has a pink one) and I was really confused why Summer was so happy to have her pacifier...
answer: because it was Emsley. Summer hates pacifiers.
While I was pregnant, I planned on painting baby A's toes so that I wouldn't ever get my babies mixed up. I never had to do that because one day while Emsley was in the NICU, I noticed 3 little "strawberries" had magically appeared. The nurse said that they weren't there when she was born because she was early, but that they appeared a few days after she was born. Dr. Bigham says they will start to go away at 6 months, but until then we have a fail-proof way of determining who's who at 4AM. ;)

double trouble

I finally have a moment to update!
Both babies are home, which is obviously why my blog has been left in the dust lately! Emsley got to come home on oral antibiotics instead of being trapped in baby jail (aka: the NICU). To say that I am sleep deprived would be an epic understatement!

Both girls are doing soooo great! They seem to get a little more chubby every day! Thankfully my mom has been staying with us the past few weeks...I refuse to think about how hard its going to be when she leaves later this month. Its so much easier when you have a 1:1 adult baby ratio going on all day! ;)
