What...10 months....

You're kidding me! I can't believe how time has flown by since Zoe was born. I swear, getting her here took forever, and now that she is here I can't seem to enjoy every moment like I did when Sophie was a baby. Every time I turn around Zoe is doing something new that two seconds ago, I swear she wasn't doing. I just want to keep her little forever! She makes me laugh, kissing/gnawing on her baby fat gives me indescribable joy, and she can't backtalk yet!

Although she hasn't master crawling yet, she scoots around on her tummy like a pro. I really don't think crawling will ever be in her horizons, she is too busy and scooting suits her just fine and to be honest, she is just as fast if not faster on her tummy than Sophie was on her hands and knees. She is pulling up on everything and gets mad if it doesn't work to her liking, she is definitely not content sitting around...she wants to be up playing with Sophie.

This morning I was washing my hair (which is usually done by my head flipped over the tub), and Zoe got onto her knees by pulling up on the step stool, grabbed onto my legs, walked on her knees over to the tub and pulled up to see what I was doing. See what I mean about not being content at ground level.

Here she is trying to get up onto the computer with me:

And here is her beautiful cheeser (courtesy of daddy!), seriously this is how she likes to smile...it cracks me up every time, especially when she juts out her lower lip and sticks her chin into the air.

I get so sad when I realize how big she has gotten! But alas they must all grow up....just don't loose the kissable baby fat, Zoe, PLEASE!!!

Friday Confessional

Tyler knew a girl on his mission and she has a blog Glamazon Mormon Mom and every Friday she does Friday Confessional. This week she has invited all who reads to join in the fun. Not that this blog is ever about me and what I do...it is totally about my girls, but I though it might be fun to write some things down.

I confess:

-I usually go days without washing my hair
-when I say days, I mean like MAYBE twice a week
-gross I know but who has the time when your hair needed to be cut 6 months ago
-it is unruly, curly, and takes FOREVER to dry (even with a blow dryer)!
-I kick my husband awake when Zoe wakes up at 2 a.m.
-then I pretend to be asleep
-it's only right since he was at work all night when Sophie was born.
-I usually get down on the floor to play so that I can catch few Z's
-down there I can feel if Zoe leaves my side
-at least I think I can....
-if I nap on the bed no one would see me for days, weeks, maybe even MONTHS!

Well, there you have it. Man that felt good....maybe I will try it again next week. If you feel the itch, write down your confessions, it might be fun!

December Recap

We had a great ending to the year! Tyler was home for two weeks on Christmas vacation, we spent lots of time with family, had fun at family parties, and got to go out for my birthday. It was so nice to have Tyler home for these past couple of weeks, Sophie enjoyed it more than I can describe, her and daddy spent plenty of time in the snow, a plus for me, brrr it was cold out there.

Tyler and Sophie in their cool fort...they even had a flag (the wood sticking out of the snow on the right of the picture).

The girls and I got to spend some time shopping with my mom. We ventured up to Ogden for Zoe's 9 month check up and she was there tending my little sisters baby, so of course we had to show that mall who was boss! Sophie and Zoe made out like bandits, they both got really cute Christmas dresses. The only condition was that I get a picture of them in the dresses. Well this is what we came up with.....the cheeser and captain oblivious:

...the "mom, are you serious...you want us to smile!"

...the "I can't believe you are doing this....aren't you done yet!"

....trust me when I say that these were the three good ones. Those two little stinkers would not cooperate. Sorry mom, but this is the best we're gonna get.
We had a really good Christmas, filled with family parties and a lot of late nights. My family had our classic Rose Party!! Lots of crazy games and good laughs. I didn't get a picture, but the one game Tyler and I won, we had to eat rope licorice to the center first in order to win (kind of like the spaghetti scene in Lady and the Tramp). Man was that licorice hard...just a tip if you want to try this game, use softer licorice so you can actually chew and swallow, Tyler and I just had to keep shoving it in.....mouth full of hard licorice, not fun!!
Christmas Eve we went to Tyler's family party. Lots more fun games and even better food! Tyler and I dueled it out in a race to see who could unwrap and eat a Hershey's kiss first, the catch?? we had to wear gloves, not quite so easy. Lots of physical violence trying to get each other away from the bowl of Kisses! Funny note, we played the present game, Sophie lost interest when the princess sticker book was stolen, but beamed with excitement at the end of the game when someone traded her the remote control helicopter she had for a little pink flashlight...."I love it!!" she exclaimed.
We spent a quiet Christmas Day at home, here are some pictures of our morning opening presents:
Sophie just couldn't contain her excitement!
See that little castle in the back...man did Santa hit it on the nose or what!!??

Zoe completely overjoyed about the Cabbage Patch doll Grandma Cheryl and Grandpa Kraig got her....she couldn't wait for it to come out of the package before she attacked it!

A somber expression...."clothes....mom, dad...what were you thinking!"

Grandma Cindy made Sophie a princess nightgown and some pj's, she loved them both so much that she decided to where both of them to bed Christmas night!

Our Christmas day was topped off by a visit from my mom, dad, big brother and his fiance. It was so much fun to have them spend the night with us. It was my first time meeting my soon to be sister-in-law and she was so much fun to talk to!!! Such a great match for my brother! It was a really great visit with them.
My birthday followed a few days latter and Tyler and I celebrated with dinner and shopping. We went into Jordan Landing and spent our Christmas money (man did they have some good sales on clothes, $4 for a shirt, can't beat that!). We finished off at Joe's Crab Shack...Mmmm...gotta love seafood!
We were lame on New Year's. Tyler and I sent the girls to bed at the usual time, watched Star Trek (a good movie, by the way!), and were in bed by 11:30...lame I know. 30 minutes shy of the New Year but hey, I was tired!
We hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. Here's to another great year!!!
